Bed & breakfasts in Albemarle Sound

Great location, beautiful house. Right across from the beach. Our room had a nice balcony. We liked the coffee and snacks in the shared kitchen downstairs also nice to meet other guests to socialize with. Would stay there again.

This was the best Airbnb and/or B&B experience we’ve ever had. Johanna and Michael are the perfect hosts and their house and hospitality are off the charts. The reviews are all spot on and this is a true B&B experience. Johanna went overboard to ensure my family’s comfort and stay were amazing. We would DEFINITELY stay again. It was one of the best parts of our OBX experience. Thank you so much Johanna for everything. You are the bestest host ever!!!

Our stay in the sea level suite was perfect. The location was great, the beach is right across the street and there are so many great restaurants within a short walk/drive. The breakfast was simple but just what we needed to start our day and the afternoon snacks were a nice treat! Being able to bring our dog was a huge plus. Would defiantly love to stay here again in the future.

I was traveling with my husband and mother. We felt very well taken care of! We were personally greeted and taken to our rooms, and were welcomed with champagne and a charcuterie board! The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and a fun start to our day. Cheryl,and her friend Teresa, gave us great recommendations of restaurants and things to do in the area. There are special touches in the rooms that make you feel thought of—such as Godiva chocolates and nice glassware for drinks and coffee. Cheryl also provides bath robes and toiletries. There is a kuerig machine with plenty of coffee available. The rooms have been updated with a fresh clean look! The beds are cozy and comfortable! I look forward to coming back some day! Staying with Jo & Mike over Labor Day weekend was the best decision ever! It was truly a home away from home. We wanted to get away for a relaxing weekend at the beach and that's exactly what we got. Their home is beautiful! Everything was super comfortable and immaculately clean. Breakfast was delicious...not even gonna lie, we helped ourselves to seconds! We loved that the beach was only a few minutes away, so convenient and definitely a plus. And the best part was getting to know Jo & Mike. I can honestly say we now have friends in the Outer Banks! No doubt their home will be the only place we'll stay in next time we're in town.

I LOVE how friendly Aida and John are. The place was wondering and the minor problems we had, they were very quick to fix them and I cannot record them enough. They were kind, everything was in a good distance and it is so peaceful! This was my first time using Airbnb and they made it a wonderful experience❤️ Thank you John and Aida!!

Great location - loved the outside area with the porch and pier. I loved watching the rain come in over the bay. Very friendly hosts and beautiful dogs. I'd love to return here one day.

Super cozy bed and great shower. We always enjoy our stay. Great location, perfect walking distance to downtown area. Enjoyed fresh hot brewed coffee in the kitchen in the early morning before my walk. So relaxing! We will be back again.

Our second stay at The Culpepper Inn and we will be back! Well-appointed, spotless room and bathroom, very comfortable bed and superb shower. Good variety of complimentary foods for breakfast including eggs to cook yourself, homemade coffee cakes, cold cereal, bagels, yogurt, coffee and juice. Beautiful, well-kept grounds and pool to enjoy. Holly and Michael are wonderful hosts and responsive to requests. We love it here!

My stay at the Cottington Inn was absolutely incredible. From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of relaxation and calm that I truly needed. The atmosphere was peaceful, the accommodations were comfortable, and every detail seemed thoughtfully designed to help guests unwind. This stay was more than just a getaway—it was a reset that came at the perfect time. I can’t recommend it enough to anyone looking for a place to recharge and find a sense of peace. I’ll definitely be back!

Kelly and Rick are amazing hosts! They open their house up for you to feel at home and when other guests are around it feels like a family get together! If you are into dogs they have two amazing dogs that have a big bark but larger hearts and will not be upset if you pet them. Kelly and Rick went above and beyond this weekend when some of my friends had their hotel reservations cancelled without notice and then immediately began calling around and found a place for my friends to stay. If you need a place to stay do not skip and just book!

My husband and I have been visiting Elizabeth City often and love staying with Kelly and Rick. Feels like home! Ghost Walk is my favorite time of year and this time we brought friends! The Pepperberry is located on Main Street and is walkable to the water front and to great restaurants !

Holly and Michael were very responsive and attentive hosts. Got to meet Michael who recommended the Albemarle Museum. That was lovely, so glad we went there. Ate at two of the restaurant recommendations Sushi and Bistro were also great! Wonderful coffee spot called "Muddy Waters" within walking distance; went there both mornings for that shot of espresso. Easy self check-in/check-out lots of signage and instructions on continental breakfast. Beautiful and tranquil property, had a very nice experience.
