Houten huisjes in Alberta

I stay at a lot of Airbnb's and always try to find unique and memorable spots. Just when I think I've found the best hidden gems a place like Shaun's comes along and blows the bar way out of the water. Every touch and detail was thought out with care. The surroundings speak for themselves but the space Shaun has created is outstanding. And Shaun himself is so friendly and hospitable, was able to borrow some milk for my coffee in the morning and he had it over in a flash. The cabin itself was quaint but clean and functional with much of the focus being on the large private deck. All the shared spaces have everything you need and create a great way to mingle with other guests. I got to have a chat with a very nice man who was visiting on a fishing trip and was cooking his catch of the day on the fire, he then later brought me a plate of my own, what a special experience. By far my favourite Airbnb to date. Will always make a point to stay here when I can. 10/10

Thank you so much for the fantastic space for our family to kick back and enjoy! Even with the gondola being down in kicking horse at the moment, we are glad we never changed our plans and kept our great reservation at the Smiley Wolf! The beds and space is very comfortable and the photos don’t even do as much justice as the actual place! Thanks again Ben and Vera!!

We loved our stay, would not hesitate to be back!

Loved the cabin! Made me feel like I was back in the Colorado mountains. The view from the deck was incredible. There’s a beaver lodge down at the river, so you hear the little guy munching away; with some binoculars, we were able to see him swimming around which was super cool! Would definitely stay again. If you like a firm bed, choose the bedroom by the living room. Soft bed lovers, choose the one by the bathroom. Bring slippers as the floor is tile. For those curious, the cabin is about 2 hours from Banff proper.

Nice clean, private, peaceful place to stay.Everything was exactly as stated in the add.Provided towels, linens, plates, soaps and some condiments/spices that I forgot. They had firewood available for us to use as well. Awesome place to stay highly recommend to anyone looking to unplug !!

Amazing unit, was quite surprised by how well developed, clean, and designed the unit and campus grounds were. Initially we didn’t have hot water but it is because it wasn’t turned on (this needs to be turned on by a module next to thermostat). Overall amazing stay and super friendly host

This was a great place for a group! Super clean and comfy. The kitchen is beautiful and well stocked. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool table a lot. It is a little bit out of town but not too bad to drive into Golden and easy access to Rogers Pass for ski touring. Would stay again!

Second time out at the cabin and it never disappoints. Beautiful spot, would most definitely recommend Evan and his cabin to anyone out for a little mountain getaway.

Second stay here at “the rec base” with my lady and our 2 dogs. It was wonderful. This time we stayed in the dead of winter and it was so peaceful and quiet. We bundled up and walked the property, sat by the fireplace, put on some music and enjoyed some REAL down time. Thanks for sharing your little piece of paradise. We’re already planning our next stay. :-)

This cabin was the perfect little space for a girls trip away! We felt right at home & felt like it had everything we needed & more! We really appreciated the extra effort for making our dog feel welcomed too. Recommend this spot for a cozy & relaxing getaway!

Staying at Kim’s cabin was an excellent experience! Accommodations were spotless, peaceful and had everything we could possibly need. The surrounding area is breathtaking with adventure right at our doorstep. I highly recommend living your best life at Kim’s Cabin!

Lovely stay to recharge

10/10 recommendation “The Ruby”. Lovely little house with everything you need—Netflix, French press with fresh beans, big fridge, soaps, shampoo/conditioner, cut wood for the fire pit, and nice lighting throughout. I didn’t travel with small children, but you could easily stay here if you did—a crib, baby utensils, toys, and even baby shampoo! Ruby is clean and well cared for, and I felt right at home. Added bonus: this place has *the* best reading chair I have ever sat in! Expect to lose hours in that seat.

If we could give more than 5 stars, we would. Cheryl’s place was better than what it looked on the listing. Clean, welcoming, and beautiful place. Few things to know: - this place is REALLY pet friendly. Most Airbnb call themselves pet friendly but then have so many rules which go against enjoying your stay with your fur babies. That place is made to enjoy your stay with your family AND your pets. - there is a beautiful beach access which comes with the place, with beach furniture and more… LOVELY - the backyard is fully fenced, and beautiful. - the scenery is stunning, there is a gazebo close to the place, on top of a hill, which is such a great spot for sun rises and sun sets. - we met Marc in the backyard, he was cool, friendly and welcoming. I could go on for hours but I think it says it all, if you’re thinking about booking this place, go ahead, you won’t regret it.

The cabin was perfect. Exactly as described. Very peaceful, beautiful and serene. Jennifer was great and always responsive. Definitely will be looking at coming back very soon.

If you are looking for a place to spend quality time with your family, this is the right place for you. The cabin is spacious and a few steps from the lake.

We had a great time at this cabin! It was very clean, well-maintained and had all the amenities we needed. The host, Tanya, was very responsive and we had no issues checking in or out. We would recommend this place to anyone!

Beautiful little cabin in the woods. Smartly appointed with everything you could ever need for a rustic stay. You'll need to navigate a ladder to the sleeping area, it's a childhood dream but have to have knees and balance to make it to bed. You'll be greeted by a very comfortable king bed and a window for fresh cool air. Such a treat to enjoy the firepit. If you're looking for a little adventure close to Calgary, you'll be charmed by this little cabin in the woods.

Fantastic cabin just as advertised! Great relaxing long weekend. The fireplace is the highlight, but everything about the cabin is super relaxing. Great stay for a family with young kids!

Uns hat die Unterkunft sehr gut gefallen! Wir sind spät abends angekommen, da hatten wir etwas Schwierigkeiten den richtigen Weg zu finden :) Tolle kleine Hütte und alles was man braucht. Wir sind jeden Tag gut in die Nationalparks gekommen.
