The place was ultra convenient for our hiking trip to the Chiracauhua National Monument. Wendy and Gary were very hospitable and aided in our needs fully. The trailer is comfortable and things worked great.

Such a spectacular setting! Sitting on Joy and Ray's patio terrace is like having Yosemite valley all to yourself, an unbelievable treat. The cabin is lovely and the location is perfect. Joy and Ray are welcoming, relaxed hosts. The poet Mary Oliver famously asked, "what will you do with your one wild and precious life?" . Joy and Ray provide a pretty remarkable answer to that question, that is an inspirational model to the rest of us. Natural history and historical interpretation, science and education, photography and exhibit construction, music, rodeos...a rich tapestry they wove exactly how they wanted, with creativity and science and collaboration running through it all. We can't wait to return to the canyon views and the conversations on the patio terrace.

First and foremost Debbie is a fantastic host, very responsive to any questions we asked and really helpful, a very kind, generous and caring individual. The spacious property is situated in a private location quite remote on the other hand easily accessible to Portal and other beautiful areas around there. The kitchen was well equipped with a good sized fridge/freezer, efficient oven and stove top. The bed was super comfy and the quality of the bed linen, towels and toiletries was excellent. My wife and myself are both birders and we here here to find some great birds which we did as the garden area was a magnet for northbound migrants in April. We were also treated to an incredible close encounter with 6 Javelina in the garden area. I would imagine that this property with an upstairs decking area would also be ideal for any stargazers given little or no light pollution around here. In conclusion we have to say that Rio Air Ranch was a great choice for our 2 night stay.

The Hacienda was the perfect place to call home for our first birding trip to Cave Creek Canyon. The space was clean, comfortable and cozy. We saw lots of birds and wildlife right on the property. And Bill is a knowledgeable and gracious host.

The cabin is peaceful and private and in a fantastic location if you want to hang out in and around Portal. As everyone says, the big porch with its expansive view of the mountain, and the many bird feeders which bring in a dozen or more species ( and javalinas!) and the dark skies are really special. The cabin itself is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals but the Portal Cafe is a fun place- next time we’ll bring fewer groceries! Steve was responsive when we texted with a minor question.

The goal was to unplug from our busy lives for the weekend, and John & Cathy’s place was absolutely perfect to do just that! We felt right at home, the place was just so cozy. They provided an incredibly detailed “instruction manual”, which covered topics ranging from how to use the AC and the ROKU remote to where to get groceries and possible daytrips. This location is very remote, so that came in handy - and so did the full kitchen! No need to leave the place if you don’t feel like it. The highlight, of course, was when John hosted a starparty for us in one of his 3 observatories right in the backyard. Even though the moon was a little bright, he showed us so many amazing things, all with a detailed explanation of what we were looking at. Next time we’ll make sure to visit during a new moon, so we can see even more - because we definitely plan on coming back!

We loved this peaceful oasis. Sitting outside in the morning and afternoon watching the birds and just relaxing was perfect. The beds were super comfortable but, oh my, the bath towels! Incredibly fluffy and soft. I will be buying some as soon as I get home. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed to make meals and the big shower was a plus. Diana was quick to communicate and answer all of the questions we had. So close to Chiricahua National Monument and other places to hike. But best of all was Kelsey the pup. She was full of life and so enthusiastic and kept us company whenever we were outside. Sitting by our sides, walking with us and just making our stay joyful. We will definitely stay here again if in the area. Well done!!!!

We loved this place! It was so beautiful and peaceful. Kellye even sent us a picture of the sunset the day before we arrived. We highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful stay at the Green Witch house in Arizona Sky Village! The house had all the amenities one would expect in an Airbnb and MORE! The bird feeders were a joy. We filled them every morning with the seed provided by the homeowner. We enjoyed watching the beautiful birds, especially the Lazuli bunting. We made use of the bird and desert guide books available in the living room. The homeowner also provided information on a nearby bird viewing location which we visited twice during our stay. We spent our weekend hiking in the Chiricahua mountains which is only a few minutes from the Airbnb. A perfect location! I highly recommend this Airbnb and would definitely stay here again.
