Houten huisjes in Black Hills National Forest

We thoroughly enjoyed our time and hope to return! Jackie was accommodating, and the cabin had everything we could have needed. Watching the sunset from the hot tub, sitting by the fireplace, walking around the neighborhood, hiking various trails (or attempting due to mud and ice), and taking in the beautiful nearby sights were just a few highlights.

We loved our stay at this home away from home. Very comfortable and peaceful, from morning coffee by the window watching the water and birds, to sitting by the firepit, and relaxing in the hot tub. Beds are comfortable and kitchen has everything you need. I highly recommend this home if visiting the area. Host Mary is very responsive to any questions. We felt at home here.

We had a wonderful stay! We enjoyed the hot tub, the fireplace, grill, and the fully stocked kitchen! We were also able to do our laundry while we were there.

The little cabin was absolutely perfect for our stay and felt like a little home away from home. It was so peaceful to go and relax after a day down town, and it's only right outside of town. We loved the private hot tub and the amount of privacy for having another cabin next door. Will definitely book again!

I highly recommend staying here! It’s so cozy and the perfect get away with everything you need and super close to deadwood! The host is fast at responding to anything you need! Absolute best place loves it so much!! Will definitely be back again ☺️

Beautiful cabin in great location.

The perfect spot if you are doing all of the touristy things of South Dakota. This house is close to the wildlife loop at Custer park, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Deadwood. The house was the perfect size for the six of us. It was nice to have the hot tub and outdoor seating area with a large backyard for us to hang out and enjoy the beautiful views. The deer passed by every morning and night which was fun to see. There were also a couple of horses that were visible from the backyard. The hosts left a welcome basket which was much appreciated on our arrival after our long drive. We went into Rapid City to the Walmart to do our shopping which worked out best for us. The hosts reached out to make sure everything was ok and were accessible if there was a problem. We didn’t have any problems, we had a fantastic time!

Cozy cabin in a great location! We were traveling to visit the Black Hills and nearby national parks and monuments. We found this location to be very convenient and we loved the town of Deadwood! The cabin was clean and well stocked with essentials. I will call out that there is no door to the bathroom. The toilet and shower are located around a hall and although not within sight from the main room, there is not physical barrier offering privacy. While this worked out for us, I would have preferred privacy of a door or at minimum a curtain. This was still a 5 Star experience for us, but felt it was worth noting.

We had a great stay! Things were as advertised and very comfortable for our family. The kitchen, which we used often, was well equipped and clean. The beds were comfy and roomy. The children enjoyed the basement room, with its games and toys. We used the hot tub once. It was also clean with towels by the door. My only complaint would be the hot water & water pressure situation. Only one person could shower at a time and only for a few minutes until the hot water was getting cold. It was a minor inconvenience to not be able to shower while the washer or dishwasher or another person was showering.

Quiet place with great canyon views. Backyard was a bonus and the stove fireplace inside was awesome. We really enjoyed the cabin.

Serene and peaceful. Cute place for our overnight stay! Wish we had longer. Apple Maps made it a little hard to find..thank goodness for large billboard! Great communication for our late check in! Highly recommend!!

Cabin 4 was clean and ready for us when we got there late. They left everything for me to just check in and rest right away. The bathrooms were just a shorts walk away and were very clean. The cabin was everything we need for a trip. Lara responded to everything I sent over with no problems on our end. Would come back.

This is our second time staying here - it’s just as beautiful in the fall as it is in the winter. My dog and I had a great time exploring, sitting on the deck, observing the wildlife (daily visits from many deer, turkeys, etc). It’s very peaceful. The deck is our favorite place to hang. The addition of the recliner inside is so great - as is the new deck furniture. Truly a little slice of heaven. Will definitely be back again!

Don't hesitate - book it. This place is incredible & one of my favorite Airbnb stays of all-time. When they say "Off-Grid Luxury", they MEAN IT down to the detail. The tile in the bathroom, the beautiful fire places, the tools in the kitchen; everything feels elevated, purposeful, and just NICE. We were celebrating our 8-year anniversary and found it to be the perfect place for us two; we didn't leave for the entire weekend. We cooked every meal, sat by the fire and talked, laid in the sunroom and watched birds, and made fires at night to watch the stars. It's incredibly secluded and felt like we were in our own little world (in the best way!) Things to note: it is remote (which is WONDERFUL), but if there's snow, have a car with 4-wheel drive. Also, the closest grocery store is at least a 30-minute drive (I think), so bring food with you! It is SO worth it. I am already trying to plan the next time we can go back!!

This place is EPIC! It felt so peaceful and my family didn't want to leave; because it was so special. If you are thinking about this place to stay, you better or you will be missing out.

Lovely cabin with a great set up for families.

We stayed in cabin 16 and it was very clean,tidy and had everything we need! Having the clean shower house right next door was a definite bonus. This cabin also had an AC unit so it kept it nice and cool for us and our fur baby. We would definitely recommend this to any one traveling through or looking to trail ride! They also had a ton of DVDs and VHS tapes as well as games. My husband visited with Larry, the owner and he gave great advise on some trails to take in the side by side. Also, the Wild Bill Bar is right down the road with food and cold beer! Would 10/10 stay again!

Perfect spot for our family to stay when hiking Custer State Park and the Black Hills. Close to downtown Custer and a quick drive to Mt. Rushmore, Hot Springs, Wind Cave and Jewel Cave. Kelli's place is exactly as pictured. I hadn't realized the loft bed was the king and the main floor bed was the full ~ our kids loved the loft and therefore stole the big bed. Everything was exceptionally clean, showers were okay, laundry was great, kitchen is appropriately stocked. We'd definitely stay here again.
