HOUSE ON THE RIVER

We were very comfortable in this home. Right off of the Great River Road, this was an ideal base to explore cute towns and hiking trails nearby and return for quiet, peaceful evenings with gorgeous river view and working wood stove. Cozy! Agree with other guests that we couldn’t tell it is a dog friendly rental, but our two labs were happy there and loved watching the birdlife outside!

Anne's place was a nice break from city life. The view from the living room was serene and had the weather been nicer, the deck would have been a wonderful place to drink coffee. Anne's place was clean, cozy, and comfortable. There are trains but they were not overly noisy--no train whistles! The location was quiet, even with the folks who reside below. All and all, a delightful place to relax for a few days.

Beautiful home within walking distance of everything you could need or want. The house was large and spacious, and we loved the light fixtures. The dining table was perfect for games and art projects. We enjoyed the beauty and coziness of the indoor fireplace and also spent hours outback on the patio with the gas fire pit. Everyone slept great on the comfortable beds. Adam was an excellent communicator and responses were immediate. We will be back!

This sweet little house was fabulous for our visit to Winona. We had our dog so the fenced backyard and walkable neighboring areas were much appreciated. The house was newly remodeled and very cozy. I was worried that there would be street noise in the front bedroom so I slept in the second bedroom and it wasn't an issue. The beds are comfy! The kitchen was very well-stocked and had everything we needed. We were surprised that there was no dishwasher but since we only made breakfasts we didn't have much to clean. The only drawback was the scented laundry soap. Like many folks, I have sensitivities to chemical fragrance. It's great when hosts go with unscented or natural products. We'd stay again.

The views out the front windows were probably the best part of this place. I LOVED waking up in the morning to see the river, flocks of various kinds of birds, barges and the occasional train. We had all the amenities we needed, plenty of beds (we had 6 teen girls that LOVED being able to sleep in the same room upstairs with the twins and rollaway), and although there is not much to do in the immediate vicinity, there there are plenty of options for cute towns and lots of hiking nearby. We chose to go into Winona and do the Sugar Loaf hike, then got ice cream and shopped in town. After checking out, we hit Stockholm, WI, which was also enjoyable. Everyone in our crew loved this place. Greg was super responsive (and patient with me asking about the Wifi...I realized later it was already in his instructions). Great experience!

Burton House (Downtown Winona)

We were exceptionally pleased with our stay in this tastefully renovated home. Its location was convenient to local businesses and restaurants and walking about the neighborhood. The place was super clean, nicely furnished and decorated and had an exceptionally well outfitted kitchen and comfortable bed for a great night's sleep. It is very commendable that our host was able to keep the spirit of the home's history alive while blending it with modern conveniences and we enjoyed the guest information book that detailed the journey of restoration. Amber was an excellent host who was attentive to our needs and communicated promptly. No doubt that when we need a place to stay in the Winona area, this will be at the top of our list.

Great River Road - Victorian Historic Home (1898)

My fiancé and I had our engagement party with our friends here, we rented the entire home. The location and home itself was beautiful and right on the river. Logan was a very proactive and responsive host! We were impressed with the quality of the home as well as the amenities! Would recommend for a getaway weekend for a large or small group!

This was our second stay at Driftless. We’ll be back! Quaint home with many extra amenities. Great hostess. Pets allowed. Good location; we took several walks to river park and Zesto’s, both just a few blocks away!

The Little Train Depot

We had a great stay at this location. We visited for WSU graduation with our dog and baby. We had everything we needed at the Air BNB and Shari had great communication with us. Very comfortable stay!

Easiest camping ever - pick one of the "glamping tents". Everything was set-up for you. The treehouses looked really cute too. Super beautiful surroundings and I loved that you could stand up in the tents.

We had a great experience even in the midst of the winter storms. Our cabin was so cute and stayed warm and cozy. Greg was very helpful and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We will definitely stay again.

Absolutely incredible place for a peaceful getaway not far from Rochester. The shared bathhouse was very clean and well-stocked and the lighting meant that even at night it was not bad to walk to. Chelsi was very responsive and helpful, we decided to add a night at the last minute because once we arrived we knew we wouldn't be able to leave too quickly and Chelsi was flexible and communicative. We will be back!

Farmhouse Apartment - River Road Historic Home

Logan was a wonderful host, very responsive. I didn’t realize prior to arrival that the unit was only one section of the house and our unit was in the back of the house, but we still had some views of the water and it was peaceful. Appreciate Logan allowing us flexibility for our arrival and departure times- it really allowed us to maximize our time! We were also able to see the rest of the house and it is beautiful! Likely will be back with more family.
