Beautifully curated space, very clean, cozy fireplace, private, gorgeous landscaping , and my daughter caught her first rainbow trout on the property. Wow, I can’t rave enough about Tamar’s place. I stayed 9 nights and hardly left the ranch. There are miles and miles of private trails all throughout the ranch and surrounding forest, creek, gold mines, and foothills. Incredible views of the Sierras, valley, and Lake Isabella. Easy drive into town with everything you could possible need. Beautiful drive to Kernville that has some nice restaurants and shops. The place itself is so comfortable and has everything you could possible need. Really enjoyed the huge tub, the jacuzzi, and the fire pit right off the patio. Pretty much had the ranch to myself, and this spot is perfect if you are looking to get away from it all. Very private, safe, and quiet. Susan was so kind and was always around if I needed anything. I will absolutely be staying here again, and would happily recommend to anyone looking for a private and affordable escape. Thank you Tamar and Susan! See you soon!

We will definitely be back and were sad to leave. We loved this cabin! The backyard is gorgeous! The house itself is comfortable and cozy. The beds were great and we all slept well. The main bedroom is HUGE. You could bring an inflatable bed if you needed to and it would easily fit. Others have mentioned the twin beds in the front room...they're off to the side from the kitchen and living space so it isn't like they're in the middle of that space and are bigger than they appear in pictures FYI and the second bathroom is near so that is also convenient. My large boys (ages 13 & 15) liked hanging out on the twin beds in the front room. There is a General Store right across the way with great milkshakes and food too. It was fun to buzz over there and grab a treat or breakfast or a burger. We can't wait to come back.

Our Thanksgiving by the Kern was a dream, A perfect place for our little family team. Quail danced in the yard, deer roamed at night, And the river’s song brought pure delight. Ty’s kindness made check-in a breeze, A home filled with love, so easy to please. The setup was perfect for a father of three, A 9, 5, and 3-year-old, happy as can be. The backyard was magic, the views serene, Nature’s beauty, like a living scene. Laughter and memories, joy in the air, A trip to remember, beyond compare. The description clearly mentioned that the property is on an unpaved road, which can be a bit intimidating to drive on at night, so be very aware of that if you are booking this place. However, the neighborhood itself was quiet and peaceful. The house is older, but it feels cozy and welcoming, with everything you might need for a comfortable stay: a working stove with a flat grill, a full-size clean fridge, two bathrooms, plenty of towels, a washer and dryer, and fully functioning AC. Overall, it was a great stay, and the hosts were very responsive to any questions we had.

We visit Kernville one to two times a a year. This was my favorite place so far out of the places my family and I have stayed. We have a family of 5 (3 kids) and they absolutely had a blast, plenty of games and activities for them to do at the house including swimming. We also had some friends and family visit us and the place was great for entertaining guests. I highly recommend staying here the host is very responsive and friendly. We look forward to visiting again. Thank you!

Good place for my quick visit. Heating isn't ideal but with a sweater and socks on, I was fine. Great stay.

This was the perfect place to stay while visiting the nearby Death Valley. It was as described and had everything we needed. They were very responsive. I would recommend staying here.

the house was huge. it was perfect for our family, we had teens and toddlers so the different floors were great. beds were comfortable, love the TV in each bed room. I absolutely loved the huge kitchen. we're in town frequently so hopefully we're able to book again

The hose were absolutely the most accommodating and understanding people I have ever met! They were more than happy to make any accommodation for me and my friends with no questioned asked (as long as they were reasonable ones). The home is a great value and have lots of amenities! Theres nothing better than a stocked home! The rooms were extremely spacious and the bathrooms were beautiful! Lots of front and back space as well!

To find a home with four bedrooms, three full baths, two living areas and a gorgeous backyard at this price was beyond our expectations for myself and my four adult siblings. We had the perfect space for our quick reunion!

I’ve stayed in apple valley many times since I go to the race track there. This was my favorite location and it had a lot of space! There were 10 of us and we all had more than enough privacy at this location. Esther was extremely helpful and very responsive to my messages. I would definitely book with Esther again the next time I do a race event out there.

We spent a long weekend getaway at Pete’s with our children. The house was clean, quiet and comfortable. It is very close to everything but also secluded in a private neighborhood tucked back away from the main road. It had every single thing we needed and way more. We especially enjoyed the beautiful views from the porch. We would absolutely stay again. Pete was a great host- he was easy to communicate with and gave very clear instructions.
