We had a lovely stay with our 3 dogs at heron view, we enjoyed the spacious living area and comfortable beds. The utility space was a great nook for the dogs if they were wet from walking. Lovely local pub (the Masonic) with friendly people and bar staff. The hot tub was a massive bonus! Thanks Donald We will be back!

5 Stars – A Magical Getaway! From start to finish, our stay at this riverside cottage was absolutely unforgettable. The location was stunning – peaceful, scenic, and surrounded by nature. We loved relaxing in the awesome hot tub and sauna after a day of exploring. There were so many activities nearby that made the trip even more special: we got to feed reindeer and wild goats, visit multiple beautiful castles, and enjoy endless walking paths through breathtaking landscapes. The cottage itself was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed. The whole experience, from the smooth journey to the warm welcome, was just perfect. If you're looking for a mix of relaxation, adventure, and nature, this is the place. Can’t wait to come back!

Lovely place. Accurate pictures, though when you get there it feels even nicer than photos can show. Very friendly and responsive. Sometimes it can be quite a vulnerable experience travelling as an LGBTQIA+ couple, but here we felt welcome and safe. Hope to visit again with friends and family.

Absolutely perfect! We love staying here, it has everything you need to feel immediately at home, relaxed and comfortable. The surrounding countryside is just beautiful and the views from the hot tub are what makes staying here even more special! Catherine and Ian are very attentive hosts and Catherine was very responsive to any questions we had. We love this cottage and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, private, relaxing and very special place to stay in the Lake District.

Our stay at The Stables was heaven. Paul welcomed us and showed us around and had even set up the hot tub for us arriving. The house was immaculate with everything you could possibly need and beautifully decorated too. We loved the Bluetooth mirror in the bathroom. The garden was beautiful and so peaceful and our two dogs loved it, it was completely secure for them which meant we could relax. The view from the garden and the location were wonderful, it was just what we needed. We didn’t want to leave and would love to come back sometime soon. Thank you for being wonderful hosts and for our cheeseboard and Prosecco it was such a thoughtful touch.

For what our group wanted it was perfect not a bad word to say about the place, perfect or group weekend away in the country side just what a place!

We loved our trip to Galloway. Very peaceful, beautiful countryside. Lynne’s cottage was first class in every aspect, especially the private hottub! Lynne and Alistair were both very friendly and helpful. Would fully recommend this area and Claunch Farmstay

Cosy but spacious cottage in great location for access to the beach/estuary and nearby Silloth. Within easy reach of many interesting locations along the Solway. Very dog friendly, comfy bed and peaceful. Hope to be back!

We enjoyed our stay here, the dog was made to feel welcome although there were a lot of chickens wandering into the garden (which our doggo didn’t mind :) ) Bathroom and tub was lovely and we had very good instructions around check in and how to find the cottage. We did have someone come take out the bins during our stay but didn’t bring them back when emptied and we didn’t want to take the wrong bins so we didn’t know where to leave our bin bag on leaving our stay but hope it was ok. We would stay here again and would recommend :)

Amazing house with everything you need. Wonderful location in Wigtown, and the host is communicative and helpful. The check out process was easy and didn't require tonnes of work. Everything was absolutely perfect - thank you!

We had a lovely time at Laura’s Air BnB. It was very clean and exactly like the photos. The bed was very comfy. We used the spa and really appreciated how responsive Laura was to our questions. Thanks for a great stay Laura!

Even better than expected! We were delayed because of travel challenges and Alison was extremely helpful, even offering to help us when our rental car had a flat tire. The Airbnb was beautiful and the location was exactly what we hoped for: peaceful, quiet, private and surrounded by rolling hills and stunning countryside. We felt safe and welcome by Alison and her family. I’ve stayed in more than 60 Airbnbs around the world and this was one of the best experiences. I loved the cleanliness and solitude, perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing retreat. I would absolutely stay at Alison’s property again.

I had a lovely few days at Lesley's place. It's secluded and quiet which is just what I was after. The views are beautiful and I was lucky enough to have clear skies to do some stargazing. The house itself is well set up and comfortable. Lots of great locations within a short distance and Lesley had some nice recommendations of places to go. I would advise to arrive in good daylight as the track to and through the farm is very dark.

Delightful little rustic, comfortable cottage in a great location. Stephanie was a great host and very welcoming - even offered to carry my bags, ha ha. I am quite familiar with the area but I have no doubt Stephanie would be on hand to provide information and suggestions should you need them. After a long drive the pub within easy walking distance was a welcome respite, cold beers and good food! Thanks Steph and maybe see you again the future, all the best, Joe.

2 Calgow Cottages is a fantastic cottage in a peaceful setting with lots of bird life in the gardens. The cottage is equipped with everything you need for a short or long stay, with a well equipped kitchen, lovely inside and outside seating areas, and three good sized bedrooms. Philip and Graeme were really helpful via message, giving recommendations for places to eat and generally being friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this property to others, and hope to stay again on a future visit to the area.

I loved this place. It is exactly as described in the pictures with great attention to the smallest details. I have stayed here for the night walking the c2c but I would love to stay here longer. Linda is very responsive within minutes of messaging. She has a breakfast pack which is very useful since places around open late.

great little cottage lovely and clean,small. welcome pack tea/coffee,/sugar etc, even a welcome pack for dog with treats and toy,shop opposite which is handy for bits and pieces,quiet and peaceful location, Great for walks from doorstep, has a slow cooker too so can start meal before you leave so ready for you after day out, outside yard with table and chairs to sit outside if it is warm

We had a fantastic stay. The property had plenty of room for our small family and dog. The location is so picturesque, we wish we didn't have to leave. There's beautiful walks to be had nearby and the drive out to the nearest villages or towns are quiet and stunning. Amber and Chris were very responsive and gave us loads of ideas for things to do. We would highly recommend visiting, and I'm sure we'll be back in the future. Thank you for being such great hosts.

We stayed at the cottage for new year. Weather wasn't great but cottage was very cosy especially the bedrooms. There is a log fire and we arrived to logs and kindling. You can buy more at the Premier store 5 mins walk away. We had the dog and there is a wee garden there for her. Beach is 2 mins away for walk. Girvan is really underrated, great beach with awsome food van at carpark. Nice pubs and we had a great chippy at the marine and got a delivery from A1 both amazing. Also amazing coastline and no too far from Turnberry which is worth a look. Will hopefully be back during warmer weather.

Beautiful cottage and very peaceful surroundings. My little girl especially loved this place because she loves ducks. She even had the opportunity to get a closer look at the ducks and chickens as they were being fed on the evening. Would recommend to anybody. An all round great stay! Thank you!

Excellent modern cottage on the outskirts of Gatehouse of Fleet, in the hills up to Galloway forest. A great retreat for quietness and to get away from it all. The hosts are excellent, this being on a farm it was nice to see the animals. Would love to be back someday. Enjoyed having 7 days of sun sitting on that patio.

The house was warm and comfortable with everything we needed. We appreciated the Christmas tree and decorations which made it feel especially welcoming. It is in a scenic and peaceful area with some interesting places to explore nearby. The conservatory and garden would make it an ideal place to visit in the summer. We would certainly recommend this property.
