Our only difficulty was finding our way into the property in the dark (we arrived 9ish) because we had missed their note with directions. Not their fault.

We couldn't have wished for a nicer stay in the New Forest! The cottage is equipped everything you need, is located in beautiful surroundings with ample cycling routes nearby, and has a hot tub as an added bonus. Cindy and Lina are super accommodating and attentive hosts. We will most definitely be returning!

Great place , did exactly what it said on the tin

We had a fab stay, thank you! Hot tub first thing in the morning next to a field of donkeys and ponies catching the morning light - what more could you want?? We had a lovely, relaxing stay here. Family of 4. Kids aged 7 & 9. The outdoor sandpit & play equipment would be more suited to younger kiddies but our two still enjoyed them & they were just happy with the jacuzzi really. The owners were very welcoming and informative. Gave some good recommendations… Esme’s tea rooms in Brockenhurst was one of them. Yum! Best scotch eggs and cake selection ever! Would have given 5 stars, but the decor could do with a little refresh & kitchen equipment was a bit of a mish mash. Bring your own salt and pepper, sugar and tea, too. Hand soap and washing up liquid was provided.

A perfect find for a relaxing weekend with friends. This place was spotless, peaceful, spacious, filled with everything you could possibly need, and in a perfect location. We really appreciated the instructions written throughout the house, it meant there was no room for confusion and we didn't have a reason to message the host all weekend as they'd covered everything. We will absolutely be coming back.

Lovely weekend with friends. Beautiful location and the hosts were happy to provide suggestions on where to go etc and were very responsive. The croissants, jams, coffees etc were a lovely addition to our first morning!!🌞 Sue and Robert were also flexible with us leaving the car in the space after check out for a bit so we could go for a walk and make the most of the weather!

Such a beautiful hideaway on the edge of the New Forest. Chrissy was a perfect host with communication from booking my stay, and during, to make sure I was happy and letting me know she was there if I needed her. I will definitely be booking this idyllic cottage again, next time for longer as I didn't want to leave. Thank you so much Chrissy.

we had a lovely stay at the cottage, it was very clean and tidy with all the essentials. Nice peaceful area with quiet neighbours. Gill and George were very responsive with any queries. wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

The exact location isn't too clear when you book - but this place is actually like a small countryside heaven. It feels very peaceful and isolated, although you're within a few minutes drive from amenities (a few supermarkets) and the town centre. Sally was very helpful as soon as arrived, and super responsive all along. The cottage itself was small but perfectly fine for a family with 2 kids (the bedroom, upstairs, is really large though). All the essential was there, and in good working order. And it was great chilling on the lawn by the river, watching the sheep on the other side and the blossoming apple trees in Sally's garden, once the kids were in bed. I wish our stay had been longer to enjoy it further!

We had such a wonderful stay, so much so we didn’t want to leave. Hilary was such a welcoming host and the cottage was so beautiful. Our whole family loved the cottage and we definitely want to come back. There’s so much to do in the area too. There’s lots of toys at the cottage for kids, including bath toys and a really cute outdoor kids dining table. Once the kids were in bed it was also so lovely and cosy for the adults. The pianos were also a great touch, we loved playing them and teaching the kids how to play. We would recommend the stay to everyone.

We had a lovely stay at the Jackdaw cottage. Well located for access to the centre and shops. We liked the kitchen and the patio garden particularly. Note there is an Aga which we managed to use successfully thanks to a helpful cookbook. We have family in Wimborne and look forward to booking again. Penny and Matthew

Julie's place was a fantastic place to stay during our time in Portland. The place was spotless, smelt nice and had all the amenities and items you might need for your stay. Locally, the walks are absolutely breathtaking! Some of the best views I have seen anywhere! There are a few food shops and takeaways locally, all fairly priced and good food. We will definitely return!

Firstly thank you Paul & Sarah for your directions. If you put the cottage post code in to your sat nav it will have you carrying out a U turn on the A31 so please note the directions given. The cottage is in a lovely location and was cosy, well furnished, well equipped and clean. The garden was lovely and great for our dogs but small dogs can squeeze through gaps in the fence (Paul is aware and is planning to block off any escape routes). There were fresh tulips and shortbread to greet us, which was a lovely touch, as well as lovely toiletries. Paul & Sarah were responsive to any queries or needs we had. There are lovely walks through the forest right on your doorstep. There is an outdoor hose for washing muddy footwear and paws. There are outside lights but the torch inside the cottage came in handy. We would happily recommend the cottage for a relaxing break.

Very comfortable, clean and compact accommodation in a beautiful spot with easy access to Yarmouth and Freshwater (and beyond). Proximity to Golden Hill Fort country park was ideal for walking the dogs.

Rowan Barn's open plan design worked very well as a welcoming space for three adults. It is set in beautiful countryside and in an excellent location for exploring this part of the Dorset coast. The cottage had everything we needed, including good access and easy parking. We have stayed in several different cottages in the area. This is the one we hope to return to. Thank you, Debra.

We keep returning to this corner of Dorset and this is our third trip to Mapperton - and not our last. Absolutely the most beautiful place and immaculate, tasteful, cosy cottage.

Jackie has the cottage set up really well. It’s ideal for a couple who want to explore Portland Bill and has everything you need in a cottage with all amenities in good working order. Approaching the cottage by car takes a bit of care but the on-site parking space is ideal and off the street. We’d go again and had a comfortable stay.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Hazel wrote to us and gave clear instructions for arrival as well as coming to say hi once we got there. The accommodation was lovely and cosy. The amount of space to walk around in the forest was excellent even if we weren’t brave enough to do the flying fox. The Dutch hot tub was excellent once we got it hot and we spent a lovely evening listening to the sound of the forest. Highly recommend (my 4yr old loved all the books as well)

The quiet, secluded cottage provided all the basic needs; was located in the middle of the countryside and surrounded by beautiful nature. With Lyme Regis only a short drive away for an active day fossil hunting on the beach and eating fish and chips, it was the ideal location for a brief getaway for our family!

A beautiful cottage, bath with a view and lovely hot tub in private garden. Provides everything you need for a relaxing weekend away. Beautiful location, so peaceful. The barn with pool table and gym was a great addition. Responsive host too, a really lovely welcome when we arrived.

Had an amazing stay at this beautiful cottage. Better than described and photos were spot on. Most wonderful welcome pack, Prosecco, Brownies, local bacon , butter , fresh bread and eggs and orange juice. Lovely fresh linen and fluffy towels. There were toiletries in every bathroom . Well equipped kitchen with cleaning supplies to us to use. Would love to go back again .

We had a wonderful 5 days at Cuckoo Cottage with our two dachshunds. The cottage itself is gorgeous and very well equipped. We were so lucky with the weather, were able to enjoy the courtyard garden & beautiful walks in the area. I was working at nearby Beaulieu for a couple of the days and it was the perfect base. My husband worked from the cottage, WiFi was pretty good. Big thanks to Karen & Ken for being great hosts.

Wendy was a very friendly host and the annexe was one of the nicest places we’ve stayed - and we’ve used AirBnB all over the world. Private, well equipped, spotless and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
