5 stars all round. Highly recommended. This was a great place to stay. An easy walk from the train station (<10 min). In the centre of Charlbury, only minutes from nice pubs, restaurants and the local co-op, but still very peaceful and quiet. In a lovely garden with own outside deck and table. Bright and airy. Spacious enough for two. Good shower. Comfortable king bed with crisp linen. Cozy and comfortable sitting room. Charlbury is a beautiful town with easy train and bus links to London, Oxford, Woodstock (Blenheim), etc. And gorgeous surrounding countryside with great walks. Martin and Helena were generous friendly hosts. We really appreciated a late check out so that we could enjoy a leisurely countryside walk on our last morning. Many thanks!

This was the perfect location for a few days of peace and quiet - utterly beautiful location, super views, and the hot tub just made it perfection. Even when the weather was a bit ropey there was the hot tub and that view to enjoy. Great hosts, lovely dog walks round about and so many interesting things to do in the area. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and hope to return.

It’s a place for some isolation .I really was looking forward for some peace . Heather is very good and communicative . Would highly recommend

Had a lovely night here, private and peaceful. Mark greeted us and we asked for some more firewood which he got straight away and lovely walks nearby.

Had a great stay. Jess was very friendly and helpful and recommended places to eat and visit. The extra touches like cake, milk, Prosecco and chocolate made it special. The hut tub was amazing and we enjoyed relaxing on the veranda looking out at the countryside.

We had a fantastic stay at Dru's cabin with our young children. They were delighted to meet the turkeys, chickens and super friendly dog, and had a blast running around in the garden and interacting with Dru's very friendly family. They also loved the cabin and having their own space above where mum and dad slept. The cabin is cosy, well appointed, and plenty warm (once you get the fire going!) and the views are a delight. There is some noise from the main road immediately behind the cabin - didn't bother us but bear this in mind if you are a light sleeper.

What can I say one of the best air bnbs yet! Beautiful, peaceful surroundings with the added bonus of covered outside area, fab to sit outside on a night with the fire going! we had the pleasure of meeting Roger, super friendly and happy for us to grab wood when needed. The cabin was well equipped with everything you need and really clean. Loved that there was so many recommendations on what to do. Two pubs in walking distance with safe quiet roads to walk along. If you have little one the red lion was perfect with a little outside play area. The yew tree is close and lovely walk through the cider orchard, didn't eat there but the Pizzas looked awesome. We will 100% be back, if you are looking for a quiet get away where you can leave your car and get away from everything this is definitely for you!

Loved our stay at Offa’s Dyke Retreat. The location was gorgeous with wonderful views, especially first thing when the mountain glowed orange! Beautiful carriage with everything we needed. Hot tub was fab. Garden was great with picnic bench and another set of table and chairs with a fire pit. High hedges offered privacy but I could see the lawn where my kids played, perfect. The communal kitchen/lounge was a great bonus too and would come in super handy if the weather wasn’t great. They absolutely loved it too. Shop just up the road and a lovely pub that does tasty food. We stopped at Waun Fach on our way for a picnic and walk, outstanding views along Gospel Pass. Would highly recommend Joey’s place. Thanks for having us!

What an amazing stay we had! We ask for a little getaway with our cats and they enjoyed the peace and quiet too! Got everything we ask for! James and Becky were so helpful and responsive with our needs! Thanks again we would gladly come back

A unique stay in the shepherds hut with beautiful surroundings. Had all the facilities needed for a long weekend, and extra luxury with the hot tub.

We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. Sean greeted us on arrival and showed us around and gave us lots of great local information about walks and day trips etc. the location is peaceful and private and also not too far from shops etc. Sean checked in on us via the app to see if everything was okay and if we needed anything. We had visits from the little cat who was lovely 😻. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet getaway!

If you’re considering staying here just book it, trust me! I’ve stayed in lots of Airbnbs and this one tops the list - really absolutely magical. The sauna & pond experience + hot tub + views + sweet & unique cabin; it’s really a special experience. Nick was fantastic; communication was perfect, really everything far above and beyond expectations.

Me and my partner stayed here for a few nights and had the best little break away! Private with beautiful views and very peaceful. The bathroom/ kitchen were pristine and fully functioning. Comfy bed, lots of room. And the hot tub of course was a lovely addition that was well kept. We will definitely be back :)

A very comfortable little home gave us a fantastic view over surrounding farmland and hills. We were able to see lots of wildlife up close, right next to the hut! We didn't use the car for two days as we relaxed or walked through fields to the town and enjoyed boating, coffee, ice-cream and walking round. We took a short drive to Marsden and soaked up the history of the canal tunnel. We had an excellent break!

We had the best stay here, the lodge was beautiful and had even better views. We loved every morning looking out at the views through the window above the bed. It had everything we needed and the guide was very helpful for local pubs and taxi information. Loved the selection of DVDs as well. We will be back!

If your looking to relax & switch off from the world this is the place to go We had a fabulous stay surrounded by nature with the added bonus of sharing this with my dog, he’s a Hungarian vizsla so was worried he would be able to escape. But everything was so secure and he could run around and explore Chloe was a fantastic host and would highly recommend to friends and family Will definitely return

We had a lovely stay at The Haytrailer The space itself was clean and tidy and the bed was really comfy. The bath was also lovely and the hot water got hot very quickly! It’s a cosy space and very peaceful. The property is not far from Bath itself so perfect if you want to go into bath. It’s also around an hour away from the Cotswolds. Thanks for a nice stay

We truly had the most fantastic time here, I so wish we had booked in for longer. The area was stunning, so peaceful and quiet. Was lovely being able to reconnect with nature. The cabin itself is a wee gem and felt isolated enough that we were in our own world. The bath was worth the wait my partner barbecued for the first time in his life with the fire pit and it was amazing! I don’t think I’ve ever loved being away from my own home this much before and I’m a creature of habit so it says a lot about this place that I didn’t want to leave. 10/10

The Shepherds Hut was lovely and the surrounding garden beautiful. Really enjoyed our stay. Everything was as described and the information pack sent through before we arrived was very useful. We were lucky with the weather but it wasn’t quite cold enough to take advantage of the wood burner! Managed a long cycle ride - the 2 tunnels route, beware the hills on your return! Would definitely recommend staying here!

Amazing cabin, location is perfect facing a private field so you’ve got a really nice outdoor space. The separate bathroom is really lovely. Not brave enough to try the outdoor shower but in summer I’m sure it would be lush. The fridge had been stocked with basics as well as a tea and coffee table. Would definitely come again!

Such a peaceful place with gorgeous views, loved the hot tub and the very friendly donkeys who came to say hello. The cabin had everything we needed for a relaxing stay and there were some lovely treats for us.

Great stay at Peggy's Hut! Spotlessly clean shepherd's hut and very cosy. Filled with everything we needed and very confirtable bed! Great idea with Honesty Shed. Beautiful surroundings. Great communication with Rachel. Would definitely stay again!
