This home was originally designed by John Wangenstein in 1860 as the water pump house for the City of Duluth but was abandoned. Miss Elisabeth Congdon converted the pumphouse into an absolutely stunning French-style home. ****New gazebo on the River*** Brule River Cabin is a two-bedroom plus a loft located right on the famous Brule River. It’s also located on the Box Car Hole, an excellent fishing spot. Canoes are available from Brule River Cabin Rental. The cabin is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and groups of up to 8 people. The cabin features high-speed internet, a washer and dryer, and central heat and AC.

You can fuel up you sled and stomach at a local restaurant/bar (The Backyard on Amnicon Lake) which is only 1.7 miles from the cabin. Also for winter, we are directly on Lake Dowling! Ice fishing right out your back door!

Or take off on your side by side/ATV for miles of trails. North County Scenic Trail is minutes away if your a hiker. Its also an easy day trip to explore parts of the south shore of Lake Superior.
