Duckcottage: quaint stone cottage

Duckcottage is a five room stone settlers cottage built in 1853 on five acres of bushland at Second Valley. The property is now a refuge for wildlife so it is NOT suitable for dogs or cats. We call it 'duck' cottage because of the height of the doorways. It has been lovingly restored, and the habitat for birds and native animals has been established through revegetation. The property is secluded (there are no neighbours in sight) but it is a short drive to the beach.

Located just 2.5 hrs drive from Adelaide. Sand 'n Sea is set back from the Esplanade in a quieter natural setting. The house is fully self contained on a fenced 1/2 acre block just an easy few minutes walk to the tidal beach for swimming, snorkelling, fishing and fossicking. The pod was designed by Troppo Architects and built by Oscar Builders . In recognition of the thought, design approach and build quality, the Klein Pod has been furnished sparsely but with quality and purposeful use in mind. The single unit has a small kitchenette, lounge area, queen bed and combustion heater. Out on the deck you can relax on the day bed. The shower is outside behind a rustic privacy screen.
