Wat je gaat doen

Hello. I've lived in Osaka for more than 20 years. When l have an important exam, l often go to the Osaka Tenmangu Shrine and pray to the god for good luck. In Japan, it is believed that the god of this shrine helps students pass their exams. If you are not a student, let's just enjoy the visit. This shrine has an amazing history. It's god, Tenjin-san, was a human—a genius governor in the old Japanese era. But after he died, he became a god. I will introduce you to such stories during the walk around here, and I will teach you how to pray correctly, so that you might have better luck. After praying, I will take you to my favorite udon noodle restaurant, located in a secret spot in this shrine—you could not find it without me. It is also believed that if you eat udon noodles here, you will not fail an exam. The shrine's symbol is the plum flower, which you can find all around. The shrine's architecture is also interesting—if you have an interest in Japanese architecture, you can take good photos. After this experience, I will take you to a local shopping street to visit some sweets and snack shops.

Kyoko

Hi, I have been a big fan of jinjya—shrines—since I was little. I have visited more than 100 shrines all across Japan, from Kyushu up to Hokkaido. I have an official certificate—Jinjya-Kentei (Shinto Culture Exam) third grade, and I collect goshuin—the original stamps offered by each shrine—which priests write by brush. You can feel the Japanese spirit from goshuin. In September, 2017, I went to the UK and noticed that there are many people who misunderstand Japanese religion. So, as a shrine lover, I would love to tell you about shrines from my perspective. Visit @koko_108n.

Wat er is inbegrepen

Waar je naartoe gaat

We will walk through the shopping street and visit the Osaka Tenmangu Shrine. There are many historic stories and beautiful architecture. We'll walk around and have lunch at a noodle restaurant with a small Japanese garden. Just let me know if you prefer not to eat udon. Then we'll go back to the shopping street. The experience ends at Tenmabashi Station JR.
