Wat je gaat doen
After coffee, we'll discover Soho secrets for fans of Haydn, Mozart and Handel (whose house Jimi Hendrix later lived in). We'll visit that house, as well as looking in on Steinway & Sons, who supplied instruments to Rachmaninov, Liszt and countless others. We'll see Wigmore Hall, where many works received their first performances. All along our route, we’ll listen to a playlist of pieces written in these very buildings.

I am well connected in London's classical music circles but also have a good knowledge of the Soho backstreets where we will walk. My career in music has given me a thorough knowledge of composers and their work, and I do these tours because I love all forms of music, not just classical!
Waar je naartoe gaat
The back streets of Soho have a special atmosphere of hidden London. In this context we will visit St George's church in Hanover Square, which Handel attended, and look at the house where both he and Jimi Hendrix lived. We'll visit Steinway & Sons, piano manufacturers for the great composers. We will end at Wigmore Hall, described as the best chamber music hall in the world and home to many legendary classical music premieres.

This walking tour was absolutely delightful! We met in a beautiful French Brasserie in the morning, where we talked over what we would be doing over coffee and pastries ( by the way, the croissant there is one of the best I've had in London so far). Then, we proceeded to each of the tour stops, with Ben giving us tidbits of music history along the way. The highlight of the tour for me was visiting Steinway & Sons - we were actually able to go in and try the legendary pianos! ( Although, whether they let you in is dependent on the mood of the salesmen there, unfortunately ). I had a wonderful time :D Ben was an exceptional host - at the end of the tour, I asked him for some recommendations of where to eat lunch, and not only did he give me a fantastic recommendation (MotherMash), he walked me most of the way there :) and even offered to give me more recommendations if I needed it, via messaging through the app.
