Beautiful house in really picturesque surroundings. loads to do in the local area including walks, markets, castle (Clitheroe) and great pub food.

Booked at short notice while looking for somewhere to stay for the 3 Peaks. We were just hoping for a bed for the night, but ended up with a lovely cottage that exceeded our expectations. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. Lovely accommodation, and we’d definitely book again.

What a wonderful place to stay! We booked within a few days of arriving to extend a trip to this area to make the most of the sunny weather and we’re so glad we did. The barn is in a peaceful, idilic location with walks and cycle rides from the door, with just a short drive to Settle/ places to eat out. A very well equipped, comfortable, spotless property. We loved it! The welcome pack, including bread, cheese, milk, tea, coffee, sugar was much appreciated and we enjoyed using the enclosed courtyard area in front of the barn to enjoy a glass of wine/ cup of tea in the sunshine. The great welcome from Judith and family meant we felt at home immediately. We would not hesitate to stay here again if we revisit the area.

Lesley is a great host, who was always about to be helpful. It’s a beautiful cottage that has everything you need. It’s situated on farm land with the cutest lambs. You have the best views and it’s an easy distance to the local villages. We had it as a base for doing the 3 peaks, but there are lots of hikes to do in the area.

Wir sind absolut begeistert von dieser süßen Unterkunft Es fehlte uns an nichts. Haben tolle Ausflüge und Wanderungen gemacht. Den abendlichen Sonnenschein und Untergang können wir sehr empfehlen. Haben die Gartenmöbel entsprechend ausgerichtet. Das gerade Lämmerzeit ist konnten wir zusätzlich sehr genießen. Zwei Scharmützel mit ihren insgesamt fünf Babies zu beobachten war eine große Freude! Sooo niedlich ! Wir können diese Unterkunft wärmstens empfehlen. Ein Highlight unsere Yorkshire Tour.

We had a lovely stay, visiting our family, and found the cottage really warm and cosy. Everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Rodney and Sheila were welcoming, friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you.

The cabin was absolutely beautiful and so well equipped! The extra little touches for the dog were great too 🙂 Frances was really friendly and communicated well prior to our stay, and made sure we had everything we needed. Location was great, with loads of dog walks on the doorstep and pubs close by, and also easy links into Manchester (we travelled up for the Marathon). The views from the cabin were idyllic, and the huge balcony is great! It has to be one of the most dog friendly places we have ever stayed, but was still absolutely spotless so you’d never know! Would 100% recommend staying here, amazing accommodation, location and host!

The Roost is a beautiful lodge in an idyllic location for accessing a wide range of places in Yorkshire, Lancashire and The Lake District. Shirley was a lovely host, very accommodating, welcoming and friendly. The place was immaculate, comfortable and homely. We have already booked a second visit.
