When I first walked into this home, I felt nothing but joy. This is the classic farmhouse of your dreams, a place where you can slow down, unplug, sleep soundly, write your novel, cook your dinner slowly, and hold a warm cup of coffee in your hands while chattering with friends and family. When you get the hankering to go outside, raining or sunny, you have the stunning Black Valley all around you. Take a hike. Hire a boat. Run for miles. Come back home, curl up with a blanket, and rest.

The cottage is set in an idyllic location on the Ring of Kerry, close to Beaufort village (pubs, restaurants and shops). Killarney is less than 15 mins away. A scenic area at the foothills of the mountains, close to all major attractions; Irelands highest mountain Carrauntoohill, the Gap of Dunloe and the Black Valley. The stone cottage which is over 250 years old has been recently renovated and retains its traditional style: stone and white-washed walls, inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove. There are also modern conveniences: heating, Wifi, TV with Netflix and fully equipped kitchen. Downstairs there is an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area with a vaulted ceiling and the bathroom. Upstairs is a cosy double bedroom. Outside guests have their own patio and garden area with seating

The Gap Cottage, Gap of Dunloe

The Gap Cottage is located in the Gap of Dunloe beside the world famous Kate Kearney's cottage Bar & Restaurant. The Coffee Pot and Heather restaurants are only a few mins stroll away. The cottage comprises of two bedrooms (one bedroom with a double bed, the second bedroom with a bunk bed) both ensuite and a kitchen con living area. The rear of the cottage faces the Purple mountain whilst the front of the cottage faces Strickeen mountain.
