Huisjes in Greater Manchester

A hidden gem! We had a lovely long weekend here at the wonderful Stables - lots to do in the area, nice and peaceful with a range of local walks. Only 20 minutes on the train to Manchester - we will definitely be staying here again!

This was a fantastic little stay! The self check in made it easy and hassle free which after a 5 hour journey, was much appreciated. There was good parking to the side of the property which we made the most of. The place itself was incredibly clean, peaceful and all round beautiful in its simplicity. We were left some food essentials (wine (most important of course), eggs, milk, butter, bread etc) which is a small touch but so thoughtful. The hot tub was also left on which we jumped right into! And using it was easy to do and a real selling point after a day of hiking. Popular hikes are 25-45 minutes away by car which was more than manageable for us. Manchester was also accessible via train by a 10 minute car journey to the station and a 25 minute train journey- we did this from Hattersley. We even met the hosts who arrived just after we were checking out and both were absolutely lovely! Friendly, welcoming and incredibly receptive to us. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We had a lovely stay in glossop. The hosts were really helpful. We also were left with a really nice welcome pack with snacks and wine, which was a lovely touch. The hosts also turned on the hot tub for us even though it was out of season with a discounted additional fee and it was really appreciated. Thank you very much

11 adults and one dog visiting and we all had a lovely time. Everything in the house was well thought out from the amount of cutlery and crockery to setting out special towels for the dog upon arrival. The location is superb with gorgeous scenery and great walks but also with a local town with well known shops for supplies. The hot tubs were a great feature and the large TVs made enjoying ourselves very easy! Would definitely recommend and even stay again.

The Old Barn is spacious and comfortable - just watch for some low hanging lights if you are tall! The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking. The hot tub is great and the whole place is private. There is a narrow, steep track to get down to the lodges, but the roads and parking on the site itself are good.

Amazing place to stay, James was a great host throughout the process. Would recommend to anyone, only a 20 minute train to Manchester as well which is very convenient! 100% worth the money and would stay again. Thanks again, James.

We had a great time as a family of four. The hot tub was amazing with incredible views. Communication was great and the host replied promptly. Would stay again!

Booked Seamstress Cottage for a couple of nights for my mums 70th. A great stay from start to finish, Sarah went above and beyond adding birthday decorations for my mums 70th and the information/direction’s shared was clear and concise. Recommendations on nearby towns to visit were also given. The cottage was cosy, fully equipped and beds were super comfy. My mum expressed that it was the best nights sleep she had in a longtime. A real home from home Would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much Sarah! X

Really loved our stay it was great! The house had great facilities, lovely and cosy living room, great location for lots of walks! Just a tip to taller people staying make sure you bend going through the front door as my partner bumped his head a few times - all other doorways are fine :)

Richard’s place was perfect for a long weekend family getaway. The house is cosy and welcoming, with everything you need. The location is a great base to explore the surrounding countryside and in easy walking distance of several pubs and cafes in the centre of Delph. We would more than happily stay here again in the future.

We had a wonderful time staying at Margaret’s cottage with our 2 young children. The cottage is so well designed with lots of lovely touches and was spotlessly clean throughout. John and Karen were wonderful hosts, communication was excellent and we would definitely recommend them, we can’t wait to return!

Wow! an amazing beautiful place. The hosts Jill and Sean were fantastic right from the start. Very helpful, and any questions we had they were very quick to respond. Beautiful home, very clean and everything we needed. The welcome basket was a beautiful treat. The whole experience was wonderful. We felt very spoilt. Highly recommend. Perfect cottage! Absolutely beautifully presented and kept so clean and tidy. Lots of lovely added extras that made our stay all the more joyful. Thank you again for having us for such a special occasion. It made our wedding!

Delightful period property but had all the modern conveniences we could need. It's location allowed lovely walks along the Mersey and through nearby woods. There is also an excellent chippy close by. Steve and Maggie were very responsive to all our questions. When we had an issue with the heating they came round immediately to solve. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely book again.

What a wonderful stay we had so close to the peak district! The most perfect, cosy little cottage with everything we needed. The cherry on top was most definitely the little hamper of goodies to welcome us- delicious sourdough bread, some brownies, fresh eggs from the chickens outside, and lots of fresh fruit! The cottage was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and we had the most comfortable stay. Lush towels and bedding too! Would definitely return and highly recommend.

This was our third trip to Hill Crest because it's just the best place to stay in the beautiful Yorkshire moors! The living space in the bungalow is so comfy and the views afforded across the valley are just breathtaking to wake up to every morning. The home is very very well equipped with everything you would expect from a well equipped airbnb - no need to pack everything from home which is a huge plus. As is now normal my boys were very sad to be leaving and we have promised them a fourth trip back up next year :)

Perfect location for a catch up with family. Cottage is well equipped and spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed and all the amenities we needed. Kat communicated clear access instructions before our arrival and the visitor’s guide had great recommendations for walks and highlights of the local area. We had a lovely few days, hope we can come back soon!

Karen’s place was great! Such a hospitable host. She showed us around her farm and we got to see her rescue animals. She is very friendly, happy and flexible with the checkin and checkout. A very great place! They have thought of everything and it was very comfortable. Thank you very much for having us!

A beautiful cottage that was exactly as the host described. Quick in responding to all my questions prior to arrival. Lovely clean house. Added touches of a small snack basket and milk. Comfy beds and would stay again/recommend. Local shop cafe and Indian takeaway all lovely. Good location to drive to Bakewell, monsal trail and Mam torr. Also called from the house a lovely 5 mile walk over the Eccles Pike circular. Thank you for allowing us to stay.

wow! What a beautiful cottage Kate & Adrian have. From the moment we turned up, we felt as though we were visiting friends! One of the nicest hosts we have ever met. The cottage itself is stunning, attention to detail wasnt missed at all. Even down to how gorgeous it smelt too. An abundance of treats, breads, pastries, cereals, cookies, juice , teas, coffees, hot chocolate, snacks, fruit...and chocolates on the bed too. Even wine and beer in the mini fridge. You couldn't ask for anymore. And after a day out , we came back to clean mugs and plates, and more cookies. Kate is like a magic fairy. Really went out of her way as a host. We slept so well. Parking was never a problem too, right outside the cottage. Lots of restaurants and pubs to choose from close by, and amazing walks on the doorstep Honestly, we would have happily stayed longer. We had a lovely relaxing stay, we found the retreat well presented and welcoming. Lisa is an amazing host! We weren’t sure how to get the BBQ started so we sent Lisa a message… she was there straight away to the rescue😊 highly recommend this little gem of a place.
