Tropical Bungalow with Pool View

This was a really cool place to stay. There's only a few cabins available so if you're thinking of going, book quickly. Very private, clean, and peaceful. Service with a smile (even if you lock yourself out of your room in the evening 😊). They have a great restaurant onsite with a delicious brunch menu. The beach is a good 15 -25 min walk (depending on the path chosen), but it's a nice walk, between the mangroves, howling monkeys, iguanas, and the rest of the ecosystem Costa Rica has to offer, it'll only feel like a couple of minutes. Btw, you'll get to see most of it from your cabin too. Restaurants are also 15min walk on average. Avellana is up and coming, and if you're looking for a 5 star all inclusive hotel with all you can eat buffet, party around the pool, and bottomless margaritas, this isn't the place for you... it might open your eyes to a new way of traveling and experiences though. (if you know, you know!) I highly recommend Soul Shine! Super friendly host & staff!!!!

Blanca is so friendly and made our stay really enjoyable. We felt right at home. We even showed up early and she was very accommodating. Location is great, beach is beautiful. Felt very tranquil.

Felt right at home. Location is central to good restaurants and walkable to a few destinations. Rafael was very friendly and gave us good recommendations for places to eat and things to do. Located just 15 minutes driving from Playa Conchal. Definitely recommend staying here if you want to get away from the city life and enjoy nature, at night you can hear the waves which was really soothing.

I’m so happy I booked at Boho… I was sorry when I had to leave! Excellent attentive service, comfy bed, delicious breakfasts, and I felt very safe. The construction was certainly loud but it didn’t bother me. 10/10 stay, highly recommend.

The location is ideal. I love the garden out front( mango and papaya trees, tropical vegetation) the quiet neighbourhood and just a short walk from the beach. The beds are very comfortable. The local ladies that made us breakfast every morning were very welcoming and made us feel like family. Onsite manager was attentive to our needs. Rod’s Schwarma and Mr. Warners adjacent to the house had great food, and very convenient. Within easy walking distances to restaurants and bars and the Farmers Market on Saturday. If you are using public transit, the bus stop is within easy walking distance. Without a doubt, I would stay here again.

Nice and clean room, everything went smooth from arriving to checking out and everything in between. Good location for doing anything in Tamarindo and the pool is in a nice very relaxing area of the complex.Host was wonderful and very helpful.Definitely would come back

ten out of five stars! everything was smooth and easy. the food exceeded our hopes and the place was beautiful and really well managed. we felt lucky that we were there when there wasn't a big group and we got tonnes of attention as well as peace and quiet. staff were super accommodating and friendly. our room was very comfortable and clean although as a 6'3" person I was a little too long for the bed. the grounds are kept immaculate and yet feel very natural and inviting. Walking to the beach is about a half hour on roads that are well trafficked by cars and trucks but the beach is amazing. We would definitely go again!

We had the best 7 nights here. The location is great, just off the main road so it felt secluded yet only 5 minutes to all the restaurants. All the staff, Oli and Emilie were so nice and helpful. Our room was large and had everything we needed. We recommend having their breakfast, it’s great value and good! We felt relaxed throughout, and there is a nice social area by the pool where me made friends with other guests. A nice community feel. We honestly loved it and would like to come again and bring friends. We also adored Emma, their wonderful calm dog ha!

Joanne and Simon are fantastic hosts. The hotel is very cosy, and the room we stayed in had a very comfortable bed. The hosts provided us with good local recommendations (for both food and activities). The breakfast included was lovely, and we saw Toucans from the terrace. Would stay again and would strongly recommend.

Best location; walk to everything in town/beach. Loved the pool area and Destiny cafe was the icing on the cake. Amazingggg food/smoothies/ staff. Would absolutely recommend this spot and stay here again. The hotel staff was so friendly and accommodating as well.

This is definitely a place to visit, the staff was very helpful and kind. The villa we stay on was amazing, you have all you need, and for us that work remotely was a good choice. To consider: 1. No restaurants around 2. The food wasn't that good, and the prices a little high. But if you have the chance to book a villa with kitchen you are all set. The room and amenities are great. 3. The nearest supermarket is 10 minutes away in car. 4. You would need a good Car, to get there is a "complicated" road but is doable! I would definitely come back! we loved to stay here!

Magnifique 4 jours à l’hôtel. Vous dormez dans une mini jungle et proche de la ville. Il y a la petite route pour les coucher de soleil à 10 min de marche. La plage Sámara est à 5 minutes en voiture. La douche est à l’extérieur, donc expérience intéressante. Il ne faut pas avoir trop peur des insectes. Wifi marche moyen à la maison, mais à la réception parfait. On se sentait dépaysé!

Sehr schöne Unterkunft mit Küche, tollem Bad, schönem Pool und Terrasse. Der Ort ist noch nicht so erschlossen und daher ist weniger los, auch am Strand, der wunderschön ist! Es ist insgesamt ein sehr warmes Klima in Avellanas. Aber insgesamt sehr schön und Justin ist ein toller Gastgeber! Ich würde in jedem Fall wiederkommen!!!

We loved Hotel Cantarana! It was the perfect spot to relax before our wedding in Playa Grande. Love the community and how walkable everything is. Loved the coffee shop, restaurant, and private path to the beach. Everyone was so friendly and helpful too. The bed was comfy! The pool was refreshing and very much needed. Really no complaints at all.
