Our extended family of 14 stayed for 10 days and had a great time. A three minute walk to the beach was the highlight for the kids. The beach was never crowded, had sand expanses to spread out on and able to wade into the surf quite aways. When we were back at the bungalow, the pool was almost always in use. The place is private, but Karla, Alberto and Luis were available whenever we had questions.Karla is an amazing chef and we had many of her meals. Meals were well balanced with delicious fresh juicy fruit. She offered to make American food, but the Costa Rican recipes were too good to pass up. Even the picky eaters had plenty to eat. They were helpful in lining up outings for us and transporting us to a health clinic when our youngest arrived feeling sick. They made us feel like family and welcome. We picked Johnny's Beach Bungalow because we wanted to have a Costa Rican experience that put us in touch with Costa Rican people and culture. We were not disappointed

Damiano was the perfect host. Very helpful and responsive. Answered any questions we had, fun to talk to. His family were very nice and warm people that greeted us everyday. The property was clean and quiet and as shown in photos. Very quiet neighborhood!! Playa Grande is nearby maybe 12-15 minutes drives away mainly for surfing due to high tides but beautiful sunsets. Playa Minas was my favorite, out of the way( 25-30 minute drive) quite and perfect swim. Tamarindo is 45 minutes away if you are looking to get more activities in. Plenty of things to do in Tamarindo( tourist town). Playa Flamingo, another beautiful beach town. Good food in Flamingo. You have to eat at Sodas for great affordable food. There’s a gas station in Huacas and in Tamarindo( Huacas is closer). There’s an Imperial mini supermarket across the street and a pharmacy. OVERALL, I loved my experience in Costa Rica and Damiano at Casa Tropical. Great Host and great person!! I recommend staying here!!!

Sonia's and Stephane's home was lovely! Pros: the hosts are phenomenal, friendly, and responsive. The location makes you feel like you have a little jungle in your front yard. We saw the cutest monkeys, lizards, and dogs on the property. ( the closest monkey experience we had on our whole trip!), The pool was very relaxing and clean. Great breakfast for a reasonable price. Overall the room is quite big, with a large bed. Cons: Not many downsides but for a longer stay if you wanted to cook, or have more kitchen amenities this would be challenging. I believe they are on their way to adding these features! Overall would recommend this stay and would love to stay again!

We enjoyed Caroline's Pool Villa to the utmost. The peaceful and private environment surpassed our expectations. The house had all the things you need to have a comfortable, if not luxurious stay. Going to the shops and beaches of Tamarindo takes only a short drive, but we opted to spent most of our time in and around the house and the fantastic pool. Both of us have an inkling that we must come back one day :-) Peter & Jimma

Eco-Friendly Cabina in a Haven of Tranquility

An absolutely charming place with tons of character. The pool and deck were beautiful. The shared kitchen area was a separate attachment with open pocket doors on either side and had very nice appliances. I enjoy cooking so the beauty, uniqueness, and openness of this kitchen was a true gem for me. The room was very well maintained and had a very comfortable queen size bed along with 2 twin trundle beds. The highlight of our entire trip though was the parade of monkeys that moved through the trees on our first morning there. There were probably somewhere between 30 or 40 monkeys that were all together and for about 20 minutes we were treated to an unbelievable show that we'll be talking about for years. Joelle and Simon were phenomenal hosts. They greeted us very warmly upon our arrival and really made us feel at home. Part of the reason we like airbnb over hotels are because of hosts like them. Their input and suggestions help make the stay extra special.

We had a phenomenal stay here! We had a private balcony, large airbnb and access to all the amenities (tennis, pickle ball, pool, ice plunge). We were a less than 5 minute walk to the beach and local restaurants. There was no noise and the AC was amazing. Will definitely be staying here again

Amazing place! Offers some of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen! Romantic stay for a couple! Breakfast was top tier and very gracious host! Only thing that’s not communicated if u have lunch prepared for u when it comes check out u will need $25 per person per day u had lunch. Cash only. So keep that in mind. But would def stay again

Muy recomendado . Excelente ubicación, instalaciones muy bien cuidadas . No incluye desayuno pero sí unas tostadas y unas frutas, esa opción me encantó. Cerca del alojamiento hay restaurantes . Se puede ir caminando a la playa .

Wir haben in einem Container mit Blick in die Natur geschlafen, es war toll gemeinsam mit dem Dschungel aufzuwachen. Das Frühstück war lecker und auch das von der Gastgeberin gekochte Essen am Abend war gut, wenn auch etwas teurer.

Our four days here were the best part of our Costa Rica vacation! Extremely charismatic, inspiring and multilingual hosts. Private cabins with everything you need for your needs. The food in the restaurant is royal and fantastically delicious. The pool is cleaned with ecological means. 5 minutes to the ocean with monkeys, birds and beautiful nature on the way. We highly recommend staying here if you are in Costa Rica!

We had the best 7 nights here. The location is great, just off the main road so it felt secluded yet only 5 minutes to all the restaurants. All the staff, Oli and Emilie were so nice and helpful. Our room was large and had everything we needed. We recommend having their breakfast, it’s great value and good! We felt relaxed throughout, and there is a nice social area by the pool where me made friends with other guests. A nice community feel. We honestly loved it and would like to come again and bring friends. We also adored Emma, their wonderful calm dog ha!

El hotel tiene buenas instalaciones. Todo está organizado, prolijo y limpio. El personal se mostró siempre muy atento a nuestros requerimientos. Brindando información valiosa de la zona: atractivos turísticos, locales comerciales, etc. Lo único a mejorar es la señal de wifi dentro de las habitaciones.

De los mejores Airbnbs en los que me he quedado! El lugar es privado, tranquilo y zen. La habitación cómoda exactamente como se ve en las fotos. Damiano y su pareja son hosts muy hospitalarios y agradables, sirven un buen desayuno en la mañana. De seguro que voy a volver!

One night stay was perfect here. Karla and Alberto made sure we were taken care of and provided a delicious breakfast with a great spread of food. Nice pool and weight area available. The location is ideal walking distance to the beach. Would return again.

Kyna and Elmer (...and Mogli) are great hosts. They made me feel very comfortable when I was there solo after my wife and daughter went back to the US a few days before I did. And the villas are very quiet and peaceful....very relaxing. Breakfast every morning was healthy and delicious. And whether you are a surfer or just a beach lover, the ocean (Playa Avellana) is truly a very short walk away from the villas. I have been traveling in Costa Rica for many years, and this place stands out as one of the best. I would stay (and probably will) there again for sure!

Agustin fue muy amable, hasta nos dio buenas recomandaciones de lugares y tours para hacer. La habitacion es amplia y linda, agradable, la alberca de buen tamaño. Si regreso a tamarindo me alojaria de nuevo aqui.
