Serena’s place was spectacular! It’s in a very rural area filled with beautiful scenery and sheep. The place was amazing, super comfortable beds and her breakfast was delightful. My mother in law claimed they were the best scones she’s ever had! Serena was very friendly and inviting. Would love to stay there longer next time.

Had a really nice stay, lovely quiet and peaceful location, room was really comfortable and Kate was very friendly and welcoming.

A last minute cancellation with another property led us to find this one, and we're very glad we did! A beautiful, peaceful location with lovely grounds for the kids (and dog) to play in, and great local walks (there are so many useful guides/maps in the property). The hot tub is such a bonus, and the sheltered veranda allowed us to stay outside even though the weather wasn't amazing. We appreciated the fresh bread/cake/eggs/milk; the cake did not last long 😂. Local village has great pubs, and it's just a short drive to Kirkby Stephen for everything else. Tebay services also convenient for fast charging the EV and a bit of breakfast/shopping. We only had three days, but I'm sure we'll be back again. Thanks for a lovely break ☺️

I came to the Mallard Lodge with my husband, 2 lads and their partners to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. This lodge was clean, homely, comfortable and very well equipped in the kitchen, bathroom, living room and on the family games front too. The lodge is situated in an area so peaceful and beautiful surroundings and an excellent area for some great walks. We were even greeted with a big, fresh loaf of bread, a lovely Victorian sandwich cake, eggs, butter, sugar, tea, milk and coffee - such a lovely touch. The hot tub was amazing, clean and under cover - which was useful especially when it rained one night!! Jenny and Selena have been so helpful before our trip, on check in and offered lots of advice on local events and amenities. We would have no issues coming back here, in fact ‘we will be back’ Thank you Jennie and Selena - don’t change - you do a fabulous job in making your customers feel very welcome.

a beautiful peaceful place to stay, welcoming staff, fantastic breakfast choices, we had a 7 hour drive home and we were sent on our drive with a snack package, which was much appreciated.

On the outskirts of Ballycastle, very tastefully renovated Georgian house. Airy, beautiful, modern, well kitted out shared kitchen and communal sitting room with projector at the top. Down a level there was a library nook with games and intriguing books. Down a level are the bedrooms, natural materials and great attention to detail throughout. Super comfy large bed. Clogs to change into at the front door for cleanliness and to soften footsteps on the real wood flooring. We were setting off very early to catch a ferry from Ballycastle to Islay for birdwatching and when we realised just how early, realised we'd have to stay the night before in Ballycastle. Jordan responded within minutes, alleviating last minute stress.

Jordan's property is absolutely stunning and has been renovated to such a high spec! Every detail for a perfect stay was considered. We had the most brief but wonderful stay with our two young boys and wouldn't hesitate to return in the very near future! Thank you!

Absolutely wonderful! Beautiful location and accommodation. Mark is a fantastic host and goes above and beyond to make your stay special. The lodges are impeccable- lovely setting and lots of homely touches. Couldn’t recommend more!

The hosts were friendly and helpful, the location quiet with great views over the lake. Off-street parking. If staying in Room 5 and ordering the Queen bed option, which comprises two singles pushed together, note that the beds do slide apart a little when slept on. Stores and pubs 5 minutes drive away. The local Highland Gathering held in August is great event to witness... Many thanks

We had a lovely stay at Carol and Ewan’s place. Such a peaceful and beautiful spot. Everything was clean, cosy, and just as described. Carol was a wonderful host, very welcoming and thoughtful. The stay had all the essentials. We felt right at home and would definitely come back for another relaxing break. Highly recommend!

This is an absolute gem of a place to stay. Convenient, comfortable, and a lovely warm welcome from hosts Frances and Colm. Nothing was too much trouble - and the kitchenette with breakfast snacks and drinks was a bonus! A lovely stay and I’d definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

An excellent spot. Really well thought through property, with great communal spaces, and the pod bedroom we were in (Room 1) was fun for our group of four, while still giving us our own private spaces. The breakfast was super, and I loved the design/feel of the whole house. Very cool, clean and welcoming, with unique spaces in a beautiful building. I also loved the honesty fridge, and honesty amenities drawers - very helpful and straightforward. A few minor things which we found a little frustrating: 1. The sensored lights in the bedroom. The lights work on a switch, but also on a motion sensor, which was frustrating, as whenever a member of our party got out of their pod to use the bathroom, the overhead light would come on waking everybody else. 2. The music in communal areas felt a touch loud/unnecessary at times when we were hanging out/chilling in the evening. But these minor quibbles aside, an amazing place! Will definitely be returning, and recommending to others.

Lovely chic interiors, gorgeous hot tub, views of countryside from some of the lodges. Nearby pub is only open weekends. Not every lodge has an EV charger, ours didn’t, we had to use the outdoor socket for a granny charger which meant turning off the hot tub

I had the most peaceful stay surrounded by idyllic countryside. The lodge had everything I needed for a little cosy escape and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff were also very lovely. I would most definitely come back. ☺️

Wir dachten, dass wir in Sandaig ein bisschen Abenteuerurlaub machen. Immerhin kommt man nur mit dem Schiff hin und muss dann noch querfeldein wandern. Es fühlte sich aber an als käme man nach Hause. Bettina und Roland sind super sympathisch, kochen lecker und haben einen fantastischen Ausblick aufs Meer. Wir kommen gerne wieder und bleiben dann länger.

Loved our new year stay at Owen's lodge - we stayed for 4 nights with out two young children. The lodge is well equipped, was easy to check in and in a great location. The place was clean and tidy, the rooms are really large and the hot-tub was brilliant. The lodge has everything you need for a decent getaway with loads of things in the local area only a short drive away. Just to note: The WiFi isn't particularly great and there is very little phone signal (at least on the two networks we had). Not a huge issue but as the weather was particularly bad over the new year we probably stayed in the lodge more than we had anticipated and the WiFi wasn't great for streaming TV/Films for the kids.

Just had 2 nights at Margaret’s lodge, its was absolutely beautiful I took my 2 little girls and they were in there element. Occasional was for a birthday and arrived to a birthday cake and card such a lovely thoughtful touch. Would highly recommend and already looking to book again!

We booked a couple of days in one of the pods, as we were doing Yorkshire 3 peaks. Lovely Marco greeted us on arrival and showed us around our micro pod, giving us full instructions where things were and how to use the under floor heating etc. He was available right next door in the B &B if we needed anything. First time staying in a pod and we absolutely loved it. It had everything we needed, pristine and had a welcome pack of food items in place ( The lemon drizzle welcome cake was amazing!). Breakfast was delivered to the pod at your requested time and the quality of the ingredients was top notch. There was also cereal, fresh fruit platter and bread in the welcome pack. The grounds are lovely, very well maintained and peaceful with a lovely view of Pen-y-ghent. Marco is a first class host and ensures your stay is exceptional, which it was. Those extra little touches, excellent accomodation and a lovely host made this 5 star, we will definitely be back!
