My family and I had an amazing stay at this Airbnb. The location was perfect—close enough to downtown, but still in a quiet, peaceful area. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything I needed to feel comfortable. We also loved the thoughtful touches throughout the house, from cozy blankets to the coffee pots. This place made our trip even more memorable.

The barn house was beautifully built and decorated with spectacular views. The skylight windows were perfect for watching for the northern lights. The kitchen had all the basics and some extras like a nespresso machine and pods. We enjoyed cooking there and using the hot tub. The washer and dryer were super helpful. It was a great launching place for the Golden Circle. Stokkseyri is a cute little town with a great local pool. The turf house across the street was fun to explore as was the beach on the other side of the turf wall. It is very near Bakkahestar for highly recommended Icelandic horse rides with a local couple on the beach in Eyrarbakki. Nearby Selfoss has anything you need including an amazing fish market Fiskbud Suderlands for great prices on fresh caught local fish. Kristinn was very responsive and we loved our stay!

Extremely well stocked with supplies and all sorts of gadgets and home comforts. Christmas decorations and a small gift for each of the children along with a bottle and chocolates were such a thoughtful and nice touch as we were staying over Christmas Day. Just bear in mind it’s a tourist attraction so if you don’t lock the door you may get an unexpected visitor. We really enjoyed our stay. Lots of character and very homely.

Anna worked well to accommodate the changes needed given the closing of the town and took great care of us.

Die Unterkunft ist herrlich in einer Senke gelegen, so dass es auch im Winter im Hottub noch genussvoll ist. Zustätzlich noch eine Glasumrandung. Perfekt um Nordlichter zu beobachten. Für drei Personen ist die Unterkunft schon eher klein, aber es war trotzdem eine herrliche Zeit für uns alle. Toll war auch ein Luft-Entfeuchter, so dass die Luft trotz Regen und duschen etc. immer noch angenehm geblieben ist.

What’s an absolutely beautiful family home . We felt right at home here . so much that I didn’t want to come back home to England :( very spacious decorated lovely . It was the middle of winter and it was extremely warm for us as well. It was decorated beautifully with Christmas decorations and lots of treats left for us . Thankyou nothing was a problem . looked after the family Cat who was absolutely delightful And no trouble at all . Very close to everything supermarket round the corner, got everywhere very easy was really sad to leave. Would definitely love to come back one day. Thankyou so much xxx

What a wonderful place and in the perfect location for exploring the Golden Circle. The house was plenty big for the eight adults in our group, and we were all able to spread out, but also come together for meals and games. Although we didn’t use it, the hot tub was a great amenity. Our host was wonderful and very responsive when I contacted her with a question before booking and also when I needed to turn off the security system. We would highly recommend staying here.

Our stay at the Hekla Comfort House was relaxing and beautiful. Windows surround the house with amazing views and complete privacy. The kitchen is spacious with generous supplies, we made most of our meals there. There is a wood burning stove and a hot tub, so plenty of chilling out can be done in those areas. The location itself was perfect for us. 1 hour drive to Vik to the south and then an hourish drive to Háifoss north of the house. Also, plenty of waterfalls and other attractions 20-30 mins from the house. As a bonus we got to see the northern lights on probably the last day you can due to the amount of light in the sky this time of year. Poula is an excellent host, friendly and responsive. We highly recommend staying here.

We absolutely LOVED the Villa. It was immaculate, modern and so well stocked. Hosts were ideal and it was one of my favorite venues ever. So many comfortable beds and the ideal spot to achieve our bucket list objective of seeing the Northern Lights. We’ll never forget this stay. Thank you!

We had an excellent stay at The Mountain Villa in early February. Hafþór and Björn were gracious hosts, responding to queries quickly and providing clear instructions to find and access the place. The villa itself was as charming and idillic as we had expected, everything was perfectly clean and tidy on arrival and the facilities were fantastic; we particularly enjoyed the sauna and cold plunge after long days exploring. Flúðir was a quiet little village but perfect for what we wanted, with enough options to eat and drink for the short time we were there, and easily walkable from the villa. The hospitality at Restaurant Minilik was particularly excellent, and the Secret Lagoon is definitely worth a visit too! The Mountain Villa was a perfect hub to explore the region, with lots of sights and walks within a 30 minute drive, and a good place to travel further into the South from. Overall, a perfect stay and we hope to visit again in the future! Thank you Hafþór and Björn!

Berglind responded very quickly and provided all the information we needed! The house was very clean, and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. Soaking in the hot tub at night was truly relaxing! The host warmly took us to see the horses, which were very friendly. Thank you to the host for giving us a wonderful night in Iceland!

Spacious house with lots of natural light, easy access and parking. Kitchen and living area fully furnished with all you may need for a short or long stay. When we got there after a long day around the Reykjanes peninsula the host had already gotten the hot tub going and ready for us. We stayed one night as we had to be close to the airport, which is a 10min drive as described by the host.

This was a really beautiful place to stay, we loved it. House was spotless and so well equipped and warm. Most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! Location was amazing and the views are incredible. The high snow fall did make getting out of the driveway difficult, but that was part of the adventure.

Wir waren sehr glücklich mit unserem kleinen Urlaub in Andreas sehr gemütlichen und sehr schönen Haus. Alles funktionierte einwandfrei und sie hatte dankenswerterweise alles Notwendige für die ersten zwei Tage bereitgestellt, so dass wir in Ruhe ankommen konnten. Wir haben Ruhe und Erholung gesucht und genossen. Das Haus lag für uns genau richtig, um Ausflüge in den Norden und nach Reykjavik zu machen, die unmittelbare Umgebung ist magisch schön, um viel Zeit draußen zu verbringen oder die Aussicht von der Terrasse oder dem Wohnzimmer zu genießen. Andrea war sehr nett und gut erreichbar. Wir werden uns immer an die schönen Tage erinnern und können das Haus uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Man spürt, dass es mit Liebe errichtet und eingerichtet wurde und es fällt leicht, es mit Respekt zu behandeln.

Ce logement était de loin notre meilleur sur l’Islande ( nous en avons fait 3) . Paisible, tranquille , parfaitement équipée, « comme chez nous ». C’est une maison familiale et ça se ressent tellement. Tb équipée! Literie au top, il fait chaud même sans chauffer. Le jacuzzi sur la terrasse rajoute la touche de perfection au voyage. ( encore + quand on a la chance de voir les aurores boréales) Vraiment je recommande et si nous retournons en Islande nous hésiterons pas 1 sec pour prendre de nouveau ce logement! Hôte très réactive et n’oubliez pas de regarder l’e-mail d’information qu’elle nous envoie en arrivant cela aide à trouver le logement! Aucun point négatif

A beautiful little cabin in a gorgeous area with stunning views. I used this as my home base from which to explore the Golden Circle. The cabin was clean and tidy, the kitchen had all the basics, and there were some lovely touches including chocolate bars, some seltzer, a full carton of milk and cereal. And the heated towel rack was an incredible luxury that I used every day! Sylvia was not there and did not respond to my message telling her what time I would arrive, but her very nice and helpful husband Gylfi greeted me when I arrived and gave me a tour. He also came out to say goodbye when I left and we had a nice chat. I would like to have used the hot tub but it wasn't especially clean. I ended up at the nearby hot pot Secret Lagoon anyway, which was great, so it was not a big loss.

Sandra was a wonderful host! She was very responsive and always available to answer any questions we had. Her place was very clean and cozy. The views were excellent with a nice, private space. We would absolutely stay here again without any hesitation!

Such a comfortable stay well located near Selfoss and the park. Secluded but easy to access. The best appointed kitchen I’ve seen in an Airbnb. Made our stay very easy

We’re so pleased that we decided to spend a night outside the city. This property was warm, cozy and exactly as we’d hoped. Great communications from our host. I’d highly recommend.

We had a great time at the cabin! Actually, one of the highlights was our host Ylfa, who was always very helpful, provided a lot of very detailed information up front and reacted very quickly to all remaining questions we had - the communication was really a pleasure to us and on a level I have not experienced on Airbnb before. About the cabin: Our kids (3 and 6 years old) very much liked what they referred to as "the play cave", which is the upstairs sleeping loft. The kitchen is well equipped with all necessary things needed, far exceeding what would be minimal kitchen setup. Another highlight to us was the hot tub, which we used almost every day (despite wind and a bit of rain outside). The open view towards the west is very suitable to search for Northern Lights in the dark or just watch the stars. We mainly used the cabin as our homebase to different day tours around in western Iceland. In total, we really had a great time!
