Hidden in the heart of Iceland's Golden Circle, nestled among spectacular views & the sounds of the Icelandic countryside, you’ll find Valhalla Yurts. Inside your Yurt you will find a tempting log burner & cosy heated bed, along with romantic lighting to set the mood. You can lie back & look up to the Yurts amazing Mongolian ceiling with its traditional paintwork & transparent cap, if your lucky you may see the wonder of the Aurora Borealis shining through. Here, there is no light pollution.

Our intimate site has 12 heated yurts, including 1 larger breakfast yurt and a separate shower/toilet block. We are situated in the heart of the Golden Circle with beautiful landscape views including the steam blows from the Geysir every few minutes. The Geysir and Gulfoss are both less than 5 mins drive away.

Stay in a yurt just outside Akureyri, great view

Beautiful location in the hills across the fjord from Akureyri only 3.5 miles or 6 km from the city center. Private location with great mountain- and fjord view. Sleep in a Mongolian Yurt and experience nature! We are a small family business and have only two yurts on the site (one in winter November-Mai), 100 meters apart so you have privacy and can enjoy being on your own on the mountain. You can hear the birds or raindrops from your yurt and stay warm at the wood stove in the yurt.

The apartment is on the ground floor in Vökuland only 15minutes from Akureyri town. We live upstairs with our 1 year old baby. Location GPS: 65 34 28.2N 18 03 09.0W. Surrounded by the fjord's blue mountains of the North. The location is great for any day trips, Goðafoss waterfall (45 min), Mývatn lake (75min) and Húsavík (60 min) The apartment is rented out with linen, soap & towels. Valhalla Yurts Freya

Yurt Freya is a traditional Mongolian yurt with a little extra. Its bright bold colours & detailed paint work stand out on the untraditional colour. Black yurts are rare & uncommon for Mongolian yurts, normally opting for their more traditional colours. Yurt Freya boast an unconventional layout inside, the hanging bed is suspended by ropes (bed does not move) and also two macramé hanging chairs. Yurt Freya is a totally unique experience that is available nowhere else in Iceland.
