Diekirch- Luxembourg Beauty at the Gehlen Inn"

Nestled in the rolling hills of northeast Iowa in the quiet village of St. Donatus, the Gehlen House offers year-round accommodations for calming getaways and/or family fun. The property is on the National Register of Historical Places. Diekirch is one of six private bedrooms with shared kitchen and living room space. Guests can book single rooms or the whole house. The Tulip room is located on the second floor of the historic Decker House B&B. The room welcomes you with a Queen size bed and a large marble sink and vanity with a private bath and shower in the hall. The guest bathroom is used only by the occupants of this room. The Decker House is located in historic downtown Mason City and within walking distance of restaurants, museums, and shopping.

Horse Farm 2+ hours from Chicago

Green pastures and white fences full of graceful horses surround Red Roof Stable Bed and Breakfast. Check in before 4pm and watch as the horses come in the barn for the evening. Sit on the many decks and patios and play a family game as you watch the sunset. At night help Diane check and water horses before roasting marshmallows at the outside firepit or inside at the fireplace. A full country breakfast is served the next day as you watch the horses go back out.

We are a small acreage just 15 minutes from Iowa City, 7 minutes from Solon, and 30 minutes from the Cedar Rapids airport. Our converted barn is at the back of the property, behind the house. There is a separate road leading back to the barn for super convenient parking. It’s rustic, cozy, warm and inviting.

Clara sleeps up to four guests in two queen size beds in the sleeping room that features hardwood floors, picture molding, and a large front window that opens onto a quiet street for those who enjoy night breezes. Two sets of French doors lead out to the large, private, furnished porch. You will also enjoy a charming closet with built ins and a writing desk in the main sleeping room.
