What’s an absolutely beautiful family home . We felt right at home here . so much that I didn’t want to come back home to England :( very spacious decorated lovely . It was the middle of winter and it was extremely warm for us as well. It was decorated beautifully with Christmas decorations and lots of treats left for us . Thankyou nothing was a problem . looked after the family Cat who was absolutely delightful And no trouble at all . Very close to everything supermarket round the corner, got everywhere very easy was really sad to leave. Would definitely love to come back one day. Thankyou so much xxx

We stayed here as a family of four, including two adult children, and had a great experience. We didn’t spend a ton of time in the home since we were out exploring most of the day, but every time we returned, their home feel comfortable, and inviting. The house is located on a busy street, though we didn’t find it noisy at night—it was easy to relax and get a good night’s sleep. It’s was a pleasant walk to the main downtown area of Reykjavík, which made it super convenient for sightseeing, shopping, and dining without needing to drive. The driveway is a bit tight and can be tricky to get in and out of, but we ended up walking almost everywhere, so it wasn’t a big issue for us. All in all, a great base for a Reykjavík stay—clean, cozy, and well-located.

We had such a wonderful stay at this property. The host was super responsive and allowed us an early check in. The house itself is spacious, with super comfortable beds and it is gorgeous. The house fit 15 of us comfortably. The hot tub was so lovely and warm! It was only a short 15 minute drive to the centre with lots of bars and restaurants. I would highly recommend staying here!

This was the best place we have ever stayed as a family. Sigurdurs place is beautiful with the most stunning view. The house is spacious and very warm and cosy. It is absolute heaven, the perfect escape to the countryside with a chance of seeing the northern lights over the lake. I would definitely recommend Sigurdur’s place to everyone. Stayed here with 3 families. The scenery is beautiful and the house is clean and comfortable. Hot tub was awesome! Lots to do within an hour drive but need to plan for food and grocery shopping while you are out, there’s nothing within a several min drive. We did have some trouble initially with getting to the property, but plug in the coordinates on maps. Also some issue with getting through the outer gate but Heimaleiga was responsive, you have to call them initially to open the gate and then there is a mobile phone you can use for the rest of your stay. There is a travel brochure that they will send you through Air B N B with a ton of info about the place but I didn’t get mine until after we had arrived. I think this would have helped. We were there in mid August and the bedroom got very hot at night, we had to open the windows but there are no screens on the windows so a bunch of flies got in. Screens on at least some of the windows would be my biggest recommendation!

This beautiful home exceeded our expectations! Halldor communicated/responded very quickly any time we had a question. The kitchen is state of the art gourmet, all furniture and beds were extremely comfortable and great quality. Very well appointed, modern home with smart features for room darkening for peaceful sleep. Grocery store and the city were convenient. Quiet, upscale neighborhood. We hope to return to Iceland and would want to stay here again. It was perfect for our family.

We had a fantastic stay at this property! The house boasts a stunning modern design with lots of natural light, and it's located in a peaceful yet convenient area. The garden and pool were highlights, providing a perfect space to relax and unwind. The kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to cook meals, and there was plenty of space for everyone to feel comfortable. Our host, Sigridur, was incredibly helpful and accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed for a great stay. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway!

Gigja was extremely welcoming and helpful in showing us around the house and giving us local recommendations. Her house is an amazing place for kids! We had 3 kids under 5 who loved the trampoline, the 2 enclosed outdoor spaces and playhouse, and the toys and spacious interior. The place is immaculately clean and full of beautiful plants! There is a walking path that goes right by the house and runs along a stream and goes to 2 parks that we frequented. All things in Reykjavik were under 10 minutes by car. We highly recommend this house and the hosts.

My family of seven had a great stay at Lilja's house during the National Day and summer solstice week June 16-26. Comfortable beds, attractive living area. Beautiful views of the ocean. Quiet, pretty neighborhood convenient to driving downtown and for day trips. Private yard. Everything new and clean. Friendly reception when we arrived and given a tour of the house. Good blackout shades for the midnight sun. One important note, three of the beds were advertised as "queen" but they were actually "double" for what we are used to in America. We supplemented with two foam mattresses on the floor. Also, the house is not suitable for those having trouble with stairs--my 85-year-old mother found this challenging. We enjoyed the Blue Lagoon, Perlan (The Pearl) museum, the food walking tour of Reykjavik from (Wake up Reykjavik with Thor), a Golden Circle tour that including snowmobiling on a glacier (Arctic Adventures with Palmi). We also did our own day trips in a rental van. Blue Diamond (sights around KEF airport) including views of lava cliffs, geysers, lava tunnel, and quaint fishing villages with lighthouses. Southern route included ferry ride to Westmann Islands for Volcano/Puffin tour (Eyja tours with Eddi), visit to black sand beach with amazing rock formations, and a walk behind a major waterfall. Also the west Iceland peninsula had amazing sights. I would definitely recommend this home to others. It is optimal for a couple and five single people, but doable for seven with the foam mattresses on the floor.

The host Marianna was in excellent communication with me. We felt when we had questions , she was very responsive. The house was even BETTER than the pictures!! Very roomy as there were 7 of us. We had much room to move around, eat at a big dining room table, lounge in the living room and the beds were super comfortable. Unfortunately, we did not have time to take advantage of the BEAUTIFUL deck and hot tub as it rained a lot and we had other things planned. The house was terrific and we really enjoyed our stay in Iceland!!!!!
