Chalets in Kumaon Division

Had a wonderful stay at sage cottage. The location was quaint, away from the hustle of commercial hill stations. The local people were warm and welcoming. Sage cottage has such a great vibe that cannot be justified by any number of images or videos, no matter how good. The view from the living room is mesmerising and can take hours away from your day. Nearby forest trails are a must for anyone seeking quiet time in the woods. The manager at the property is very sweet, helpful and prompt. The cook makes great homely and local food and is a highly recommend add-on. Would definitely recommend everyone to take out 4-5 days from the hustle bustle of city life and visit this beautiful property with your closest friends or your family for the much needed calm.

A great place. Just what we wanted. The cottage - is not very old. Yet it is built in local fashion with local materials but with all modern 'living amenities' as listed. In keeping with the mountain terrain it is built at 'levels. 'Full of knick knacks, a fire place & so on.... All this gives it a very cosy , yet rustic feel, very authentic & lovable. The cottage does not have a 'living room', but that is compensated by the large verandah overlooking the property. Grand views all day. the owners were present in their other house on the property. Very friendly yet not intrusive. One does not expect such help full caretakers in a airbnb. The caretaker cum househelp cum handyman Mr. Bobby Singh who is on hand 24/7 is a gem. he cleans, cooks, advises(if asked). Plus there is Mr. Anand Singh who takes care of the 'grounds' of the property, who helps in procuring groceries & stuff. Two people to help !!! Almost like a serviced resort . Had a wonderful stay at Ramashish’s place - the local staff cooked us heavenly food and made us feel welcome to the chalet. We enjoyed each evening watching the sunset against the beautiful mountains. The village nearby was quiet and walkable, we felt safe in the area and the gardens at the house were well taken care of and beautifully landscaped. Would definitely visit again in the future!

Great place to stay and cherish the nature.

The property is nestled in a quaint part of Majkhali, with easy access from the National Highway. There's 2 switchbacks and a short dirt trail + concrete road wide enough for one car leading to the property. Fairly easy to navigate through for anyone used to driving on the hills. The Chalet is as described in the pictures, and is maintained well by the hosts. The bedrooms aren't too cramped, and the bathrooms are neat. The kitchen had all basic cutlery, crockery, and glassware. The food menu has most of the basic varieties and local choices included, and the cook, Harish, prepares a fine meal. Being in a hamlet, we were asked to place our food orders a few hours in advance, which was completely understandable for the staff to go out and buy fresh produce. The caretaker, Paan Singh, is super jovial, and always ready to assist in anything required. I spent 3 days here with my parents, and we went back satisfied with the experience and the hosting.
