Forbes Park is filled with wildflowers in the spring, and has unique access to the SWA public park. It's less than an hour from the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Cuchara Mountain Park. San Isabel National Forest is at the 'back yard', Dike trail is just 0.2 miles away, Spring Creek trail 1.5 miles, Bear lake 9 miles, Monument lake 20 minutes, Cuchara Mountain Park is 5 minute drive away. Artistic La Veta is 11 miles north. Bear lake and monument lakes have camping area for a day camping and/or multiple day camping.
