Upon arriving at Tika’s home, she noted that most guests book here for weeks and sometimes months at a time. After a three-night stay it was easy to see why. Tika and her husband Madhav are wonderfully welcoming people who have mastered the art of hospitality. Located in a quieter, more private part of town, this is a well-equipped, spotlessly clean, and extremely comfortable space only ten minutes’ walk from the lakefront. I don’t think it’s a stretch to contend this is the nicest airbnb in all of Pokhara, and perhaps even superior to its hotels. Look no further if this is available — you won’t be disappointed.

Menuka and family were so welcoming and helpful to me during my four weeks in Pokhara. I was very well looked after, cooked amazing food and the house really does have beautiful scenery! Ganga’s place is ideal if you want to experience the real Nepalese family side of Pokhara and is extra handy for anyone studying/working at Manipal hospital (as I was) which is only a 20 minute walk away (or 5 minutes on the back of Menuka’s scooter!)

Father, mother and daughter (Shyam, Bishnu and Shilpa) live in this well cared for home. Both parents have a good knowledge of English and the daughter is almost fluent. They are very hospitable and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and well fed. The ensuite bathroom provides you with your own privacy but you are welcome to join the family in their living room. They have lived locally for many years and know everyone around and can provide any directions you require. The family is keen to assist you in any way possible. The wifi is a good speed and is reliable. I recommend this place for singles and couples, and even small families. It is suitable for both short and long stays.

Absolutely outstanding experience. We loved everything about our stay and definitely will come back. Ramakanta and his family were very welcoming and treated us like dear friends. The house and the land itself feels like a unique and magical place, existing with a total harmony with nature. At the same time, there is everything you might need, i.e. hot water and a Wi-Fi. Don’t expect hotel-level treatment though, it is more of an eco home stay where you will be in contact with the family most of the time. Just come with an open heart and you will love this place.

Nous avons passé une semaine, en famille, dans ce magnifique logements. Nous avons apprécié avoir 2 chambres et une cuisine équipée pour cuisiner quelques repas. Bien que le logement soit en plein cœur de la ville, l’emplacement est intime, entouré de verdure. Un petit oasis de paix dans la frénésie de la ville. Nos enfants ont beaucoup apprécié le terrain de badminton! Les hôtes sont accueillant et d’une grande gentillesse! Ils nous ont aidé pour la préparation de notre trek, transport et autres questions. Il y a des épiceries à proximité et des étals de fruits et légumes. Parfait pour ceux qui veulent cuisiner un peu. N’hésitez pas à réserver ce logement! Un coup de cœur pour toute la famille!

Très bien situé, quartier calme, à 10 min à pied du lac qui est fort agréable! Les hôtes font tout pour qu'on s'y sente bien, maison très propre! Totale immersion dans une famille népalaise qui vous font partager leur tradition et coutumes, nous avons particulièrement apprécié qu'ils nous invitent à célébrer la grande fête Dashain avec eux et la famille, ainsi que la randonnée matinale à Sarangkot (super point de vue sur la montagne et le lac de Pokhara) à recommander! Un grand merci pour les thés Masala d' Ambika!!! Merci pour tout!

I had an amazing time staying with Milan. Milan really makes sure you become a part of her family. They are warm and generous - happy to chat with you as much or as little as you want. I only stayed a few nights but feel I got to know them really well and hung out with them a lot. For a tourist, it’s a great way to experience Nepal and understand it better than you otherwise would. Milan provides two meals a day; one of these is a delicious dinner that is better than any Nepali food you can find in Pokhara’s restaurants! Milan’s homestay is located in the “real” Pokhara (i.e. where locals actually live), so it is ideal if you want to experience a true flavour of a Nepali city. Having said that, transport links to the more touristy lakeside are good: Milan’s family will always be happy to book you a taxi, you can take a direct bus, or download the excellent Patau app (a sort of Nepali Uber that offers taxis and cheaper scooters) if you have a Nepali SIM card. Milan has a washing machine which guests are free to use. This is ideal if you have a longish stay in Pokhara, or if you are going to/returning from a trek. Reliably hot showers are another bonus. The house itself and the room you will be staying are really nice and comfortable. I would highly recommend Milan’s homestay - I will never forget my time with her and hope to be back soon.
