This is by far my favorite stay in the north land. Brandon’s place was peaceful and fun. Large enough for the family to stay comfortably. Clean and beautiful. Everything we needed was there. Games. Pool table. Beautiful craftsmanship. Nice trail around the property. Just far enough from Spooner to be quiet and serene but not a bad drive to town, about 18 minutes. Checkin was easy. Instructions were clear and reasonable. Host response was timely and thorough. Great place for family with kids of most ages, but probably not for toddlers. We will stay here again, for sure!!

Stayed over New Year’s Eve with friends. Marla was very responsive to any questions we had. We enjoyed the place and especially the hot tub. Would stay here again.

We LOVED this cabin! Set out for a girls weekend to relax, and it met (and exceeded) every expectation! Soooooo cozy and cute, comfy beds, amazing bird and beaver watching! The best spot to soak in a hot tub, while listening to spring peepers, and read a good book. ❤️

This is a lovely spot that sleeps a group. We appreciated how well-appointed it is -lots of plates and glassware, ample towels and sharp knives! Lovely spot to watch the lake or walk around. We went into town for antique and art shopping.

This was our fourth stay at the house. We loved it as much as before. Very relaxing place with a wonderful view. The owner Heidi is super fast to respond and great to work with. We hope to return.

It was the perfect place just outside the cities for a short stay! Home is in great location and weather sitting in hot tub or by the fire at night, picturesque views! Would definitely recommend staying here! James and Angela Sandvig

I was very impressed with the place by the lake very nice Sadie is a great person and had the opportunity to meet her at the venue that my son was having his wedding reception. We are already planning our next visit. Also the Hot Tub was ready to go when we got there Thanks John

We had a very lovely, peaceful weekend. The cabin exceeded our expectation, it is much cozier in person than the pictures show. The lake was beautiful and we even heard some loons, which is one of my favorite parts of being at the lake. Beds and bedding were very comfortable and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. We took advantage of the games Becky had provided. We tried to do the ax throwing at Stout Brewing but they have discontinued that, which was a little disappointing- would have been something different to do. We did have a good time exploring the antique stores and candy store in Menomonee and visiting the Ellsworth Cheese location just outside of town. They have windows into the factory area where you can watch them make the cheese as well as a very nice store with a lot of interesting items. I would highly recommend for a quiet, disconnected trip. It was just what we needed.

This is the third time we've stayed at one of Doug's properties, and as usual, it does not disappoint. We love coming to a peaceful, comfortable, and well-stocked (but not cluttered!) space that welcomes you from the moment you walk in. We enjoyed fresh eggs in the morning, walks to the river, and the great hikes just a short drive away. We spent hours listening to music on the sound system and cooking good food in a surprisingly well-stocked kitchen. Doug is an extremely thoughtful host, and we appreciated his quick responsiveness and flexibility with our check-in and check-out times. Though this was not a deterrent to our stay, one thing I thought worth mentioning for other travelers with dogs: springtime is definitely tick season in the river valley!

I had such a wonderful stay! From the very beginning, the hosts were very communicative and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. They went out of their way to make sure we had a comfortable stay. The location was peaceful and had a beautiful view of the lake - perfect for sunset watching. I’d highly recommend to anyone due to the peaceful feel to the cabin and great hosts.

The place was serene with beautiful views of the sunrise and sunset. I loved that the the cabin was well stocked to ensure the most enjoyable stay from fire starter to fire wood. They even included a well-stocked first aid kit that we unfortunately needed to utilized. Very thoughtful hosts!

The cabin was the perfect setting for our annual relaxing sister weekend. The wooded property provided peace and quiet while the inside was warm and welcoming. We enjoying hiking on local trails. Everything was exactly as it looked in the beautiful photos and the hosts were great to communicate with. We especially appreciated that they were able to be flexible to accommodate our needs. I would love to come back and enjoy the place in the winter!

This place was great! So quiet and peaceful. Everything was exactly as the description said. The only thing I would change about our stay here would be the weather. Nothing different that the host could do on their end.

If you are looking for a bit of magic on the lakefront this is the location for you! Our family enjoyed a long weekend away at The Owl’s Nest with our dogs and we had a wonderful time! Jami and Jay were amazing hosts! So welcoming and answered any questions we had right away. There was a handwritten note welcoming us upon our arrival. The home is cozy, comfortable and super clean! We loved the wood stove in the living room for the crisp Fall nights while listening to music. The screened in porch was perfect for enjoying a hot mug of coffee and watching the sunrise while listening to the calls of Bald Eagles and Loons. The basement was perfect for watching a movie, playing darts or reading a book in the comfy leather sofa. We enjoyed the canoe and kayak on our last day there. The sand beach was perfect for our dogs to explore and rest in the sunshine. Thank you for an awesome experience at your beautiful property! We will definitely be back!!

The Little Red Cabin was perfect. Peaceful lake just outside a beautiful small town with lots to do. Great home away from home to kick back and take a break from reality.

The accomodation was very well laid out and was very clean. It had all the amenities you would need and we didn't want for anything. We would highly recommend this place.

Best Airbnb EVER. Literally, if you ever have a chance to stay here, no matter the season, take it!

What a wonderful cabin to get away from everyday life. This hidden gem is right on the lake with incredible sunsets and sunrises. We got to fish right off of our own private dock, Bethany and Cole had a fire pit already for us to use and a basket of all the fixings for s’more. The cabin was super clean and had everything we needed, but being so close to the lake I would recommend you bring your own drinking water. Bethany and Cole answered all of our questions and were so friendly, we stayed for four days only, I just wish we could have stayed for the whole summer.

Due to an injury, we had to stay a second night here and our host was very accommodating throughout the process. The sauna is PRISTINE. I am a Finlander and grew up with a true sauna house build by my great-grandfather…this was a lot like our homeland property, and made our stay comfortable. We are also a LONG line of musicians and came into town for my father’s show at the Casino. We woke Saturday to him playing the drums! It was such a beautiful touch to a well furnished cabin, which is more like a massive home. Thank you, Pavel. We appreciate your flexibility as we navigated chaos. We would absolutely stay again - the space is extremely large and would fit our large family four times over.

We loved our time at Leah’s place! We did a weekend getaway to start our kiddos spring break and they loved it so much. It was so much better than we thought. It was so cozy and clean and so much to do there even with the rain and snow. The kids especially loved the board games and the sun room which had a heater. Leah always checked in to see how we were doing and giving us the info we needed during our stay. We will definitely come back and can’t wait to come back!

The peaceful cabin loved up to its name. My husband and I completely enjoyed the quiet and privacy. We loved taking walks and took in the fall colors. Anup was quick to respond when we had an issue and worked to resolve it quickly.
