We had a great time staying at Dwayne’s place! Beautiful views of the lake in the evenings and plenty of golf courses within a 30 minute radius. Will definitely be back!

Brand new home in a new development. About 10-12 minute very easy drive to Blacksburg. Perfect size for our family - 2 adults and 1 teen. Everything was very clean and brand new. Convenient for our visit to VT. Quiet/safe neighborhood, family friendly, lots of friendly neighbors walking their dogs and waving hello. Comfortable bed, spotless bathroom, nice sized kitchen with everything you'd want. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a terrific stay at this charming farmhouse and appreciated the location near but away from VT, across from walking trails and next to the brewery. Jessica was a great host.

We had a great weekend in Blacksburg and our stay hosted by Harsh and Aishwarya was perfect. Their house was clean, welcoming and perfectly located so we could walk to places. I highly recommend them as hosts and the property was as described!

Loved our stay at this cozy and clean basement apartment that was close to VT and in a quaint neighborhood. Host was fantastic and responsive before and throughout our stay. Thoughtful and welcoming treats and access to many amenities on the property was a nice bonus. Hope to stay again as our daughter attends VT.

Nana's Place provided a great little place to get away for a long weekend. The themed decor was spot on as we found multiple items that our grandparents actually have. The house was clean, well appointed, and we loved the sunroom. The house is located right on Peppers Ferry Rd, so if you're sensitive to noise and light while sleeping, bring an eye mask and ear plugs because cars are traveling that road all night. Nana's Place is semiprivate as it is only one part of a house that is divided into three different sections - Nana's Place, another AirBnB type rental, and possibly a business/storage portion. The comedic moment that will bring a smile to your face is when you find the picture of Estelle Getty from the Golden Girls TV show.

Al was very responsive the couple of times I reached out. The fenced backyard was awesome for our 2 little dogs. A small dog bed (one of our dogs really liked it) and food/water bowls were provided. The bathroom has been recently updated and is very nice. The bedrooms are comfortable. There's no AC, but the house has a whole house fan (of which I'm a big fan, pun intended) that quickly cools down the house in the mornings/evenings. Very clean overall and quiet. The location can't be beat.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It has such a pastoral setting and is an easy drive to the heart of Blacksburg. I wish we had had more time to sit and enjoy the property! The space was compact but nicely laid out. They had thoughtful touches such as nice tea options, water bottles and makeup remover wipes. The bed was comfortable; my only negative was a very flat pillow (but everyone has their own preferences). Everything was very clean. Angelia was a proactive and communicative host. I would happily return to this lovely spot, esp. during warmer months to enjoy the expansive yard.

Christine's place was extremely clean and comfortable. The sunroom/kitchen area is just so lovely, as is the back deck. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds are comfortable. We had a family meal in the dining room and opened the french doors onto the deck, which was so nice. Christine added the table leaf for me and brought up extra chairs to accommodate the 7 of us in her dining room. There were fresh flowers and candles on the table which made for a welcoming atmosphere. We would absolutely stay again. Christine is very responsive and has lots of clear instructions for how to work things.

We really felt at home. This was the best Airbnb experience I’ve had so far. The home is beautiful, clean and fully stocked with everything we needed. My family had the best time while visiting VA Tech. We will definitely return. The photos of this listing do it no justice.

What else can we say about Fotheringay? It has been our "home" for ALL of the Virginia Tech football weekends for the past 3 years. We even made it a point to hold a "family thanksgiving dinner" at the house last Friday before the VT vs. UVA football game. The peaceful setting, and the mountains every, fall have been wonderful! Dabney, the owner, and George the onsite host have been out of this world with communication and generous hosting. George has continued to make small improvements to the house in the form of a firepit, zero gravity chairs for star gazing or taking in the fall colors, an outdoor table near the grill to sit and enjoy lunch on nice days, and some of the most comfortable mattresses and sheets we have ever used. George is easy to find, but he is NEVER intrusive, so respectful of your time and ensuring that you enjoy the time. If you like early American history, stay at Fotheringay, and spend time looking at the items in every room. What you find will amaze!
