Fries is adjacent to the New River and New River Trail. The river and trail are a few blocks from the cottage- within walking distance. The river is a popular place for tubing, kayaking, and fishing! Built in 1880 by Dr. A.C. Shepherd, this historic cottage has served as a doctor’s office, a general store, and a boarding house. The cottage is located at marker p12 on the New River Trail. From the wrap around porch, you can listen to the rapids cascading into Claytor Lake. A boat launch is conveniently located less than 1/2 mile away. The Cozy Cottage with self entry

The Cozy Cottage is located in the country side just off 421 on Boone Trail, along the Lewis Fork Creek, in Wilkes County. Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The cottage is small, only a little over 600 square feet, but just right for one or two guest. The cozy cottage has been in our family for three generations. We live just out of sight, on up the drive. You can enjoy your privacy but if you need anything we are near by. We look forward to hosting you !
