Irene, the house manager, was an absolute joy to communicate with. Always prompt and accommodating, she ensured that our stay was seamless and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a secluded escape to truly appreciate the rugged charm of Connemara, Hawthorn House is an exceptional choice. We left feeling refreshed and connected to the beauty of Ireland’s west. Highly recommended!

We stayed in Ballycroy as part of a large family party. John was always very prompt in answering any questions and very accommodating in dealing with our requests. He sent very clear instructions on how to get to the house and there was a very good manual provided. As we were arriving on Easter Sunday, John hid Easter eggs in a fairy garden on the grounds of the house for the children to find. The house is uniquely designed and crafted and was perfect for our needs. It is situated in a wonderful part of Ireland and the views from it are breathtaking. We had a wonderful time!

We had a family break March 2025. 12 family members, the accommodation was perfect for us. Great kitchen/dining room for socialising/eating. Never felt on top of each other 6 of the bedrooms had en-suite shower room and there was also a downstairs cloakroom off of the main hall. All of the 5 double bedrooms downstairs had en-suites and one of the double bedrooms upstairs. We all loved coming back 'home' after a day out. Great outside facilities, plently of logs for the sauna, hot tub. Excvellent views. Beautiful stary skies on clear nights with zero light polution! Will be staying again, already planning our 2026 stay! Marian was extremely responsive both before and duting our stay, as was the local caretaker who responded almost immediatley to a maintenance request we had during our stay

We were so relaxed and comfortable during our stay. We loved the sauna and hottub . We didn't leave till we had to go home . The bed was so comfy and we had everything we needed there including loads of little treats placed everywhere. We will definitely be back too unwind again. So clean and beautiful.

What a great Cottage with a beautiful view! We enjoyed our stay in the country while being just a short drive from the city of Galway. After spending a night out in the town we came back and enjoyed a game of pool while relaxing in this beautiful spacious home. Woke up the next morning to the sounds of the country. The house is very clean and stocked with activities to make it an enjoyable Holiday! We hope to be back!

This was our second stay at Mark’s Eden Retreat Cottage. We stayed there last year and loved it so much we came again this year. The size was perfect for a small group of friends on a combined business and leisure trip. We love the spacious kitchen and especially the little fireplace. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful and just a short trip into town for supplied, pubs, busses, shopping, etc. Last year we used the hottub but this year it was out of service. Mark notified us in advance of this and compensated us for the inconvenience, which I appreciated very much.. Mark is a great communicator! Will stay again. Thank you!

We had a lovely stay. The house is huge, loads of space for our extended family group. We loved that there were 2 large bedrooms on the lower ground level. It meant the grandparents had a more private area for themselves. House is a short stroll to a local shop, coffee shop and pub which does great food! James was a great host and was quick to respond to queries. Would definitely book again!

Fabulous location and beautiful house. Claire was really responsive and helpful with any queries during our stay. Just a note to stock up on groceries before you arrive as it’s a trek to the nearest shop. But so tranquil- Easter bunny came to visit while we were there which was a great treat for the kids!

Really enjoyed our stay. Fergal was a great host and very welcoming. It was also great being right next door to Fanny O’Deas for dinner. Great location to explore the area

The Cabin is exactly as described and better, it was spotless with everything you need in it for a great stay. On arrival there was a personalised card which added to the overall experience. Host was a very good cumminicator and responded within minutes to any queries while staying. I would highly recommend staying here

Very cozy need more than one night to enjoy everything A break from electronics just what was needed Absolutely love how dogs are allowed my German shepherd had the time of her life.she was crying when we were packing up to leave 😕 I will be coming back as soon as possible The cabin was so comfortable and spacious the candles really made the cozy look at night couldn’t be happier with our stay 🙂

Great break from the rat race. Exactly what we needed. Colm was attentive and accommodating our late arrival. It was great that we could have our doggie with us. Worth it!

Loved our stay here! It is close to town and has everything you need. The sauna was also an absolute treat every day.
