This unique home has so much character and artistic flair, so it is very warm and inviting! We loved our private stay nestled in the lush hills of the forest, surrounded by creatures, wildlife, lush gardens and tranquility. We stayed with just our kids and enjoyed swimming in the pool, going for hikes, and visiting the rain forests with guides. Beautiful, private, and artistic home!

"Laura's house is simply amazing! The beautiful garden made our stay even more special, especially the two lovely birds that spent the day with us and built their nests in the palms. The interior of the house is stunning and very cozy, everything is thoughtfully decorated with great attention to detail. The location is perfect – not far from the lake, so we were able to enjoy some wonderful hikes. The house matches the description exactly, and we felt right at home. An unforgettable stay – many thanks to Laura for her warm hospitality!"

The place was fucken amazing. The allowed us to check in early as I drove there directly from the airport and arrived at 4am. I would definitely recommend driving when there is sun. The road is on the side of a mountain and at times we’re a little scary. But the place itself was superb. The vila was nice and the view was great. I would say the only thing was there was no AC and as a person from Canada it could get pretty hot in the morning. Other than that I love it.

This Airbnb was in a great location! Several restaurants within walking distance and we loved the El Salto Rope Swing which was only a 6 min walk. We were also very close to the downtown, still had to drive but it wasn't bad. There is plenty to do around the area. Most of the springs are within a 25 min drive. The house itself was very nice. We felt safe and the pool felt amazing after a long day of exploring. I would definitely recommend this house.

Tonyia and Rod's place was a peaceful retreat. In the mornings we drank coffee on the patio while watching toucans in the trees. In the evenings we soaked in the hot tub after a long day of hiking. The home was spotless and well designed. I loved the special touches like fresh flowers and coffee/ spices already provided. We tried several of our hosts' restaurant recommendations and all were outstanding. Be aware that the road from the town to the house is rough gravel. We got used to it but a sturdy car is recommended!

We loved our time at Heather’s place. You can literally sit at the balcony and lose hours in watching the howler monkeys, toucans, orapendola and more go about their beautiful lives. This is a fabulous location and Heather made us feel very very welcome with great recommendations and homemade bread. Thank you so very much for having us!

Arenal Love Cabin, Lake & volcano view.

Great location! Within walking distance of all activities on the lake (boating, jet skis, kayaking, paddle boarding, etc.). It was also in walking distance to multiple restaurants. It was close to drive into Fortuna where a lot of other activities are located like Sloth tours. The bed was comfortable which is very important to us. The kitchenette had anything you could need. Coffee, pot, water, kettle, electric, frying pan, etc.. but no oven, just a microwave. We loved the idea of the hot tub on the patio, but there was not enough hot water to fill it. So it was more like a cold tub, but we did get in a couple times despite that. The patio overlooks the lake, which is very beautiful! The driveway is a bit treacherous going up a steep hill with a hard right turn. We were glad we rented a 4WD! Being able to see the Volcano from nearly every window in the house was really neat also! the bathroom is large and had everything we needed also!

Macaw Villa was a beautiful home that was impeccably clean from top to bottom (I wish I could get my home that clean). The surrounding yard and pool were beautiful and we'll maintained with plenty of birds and lizards to view. We all felt very safe staying on the property. The owner was very responsive when we wrote him with questions during our stay. It was close to a few sodas for food. We enjoyed El Rincon del Chef as a nearby option. Our kids ages 9 and 11 loved the place as well and made it clear they thought I should make it a 5 star review. They wanted to stay longer.

We had slight difficulty finding this place as we arrived after dark. What a treat to wake up the next day to the sounds of birds and howler monkeys and a spectacular view of Lake Arenal! The previous evening we had the best meal of our entire vacation at Restaurante Tinajas just down the road. In the morning, we rented the Paddle board. It was so peaceful out on the lake with gorgeous views. The unit is exactly as described. There are not many extras such as salt/pepper for cooking or shampoo for showering.

Stayed a full month. What an experience! Loved it! Being the Amazing host he is, Kees picked us from LIR for a nominal fee. A service my family cant thank him enough for. Cabin was spotless thanks to Griselda, it had everything we needed including a fully functional kitchen which was so very important for our autistic daughter. For 2 weeks we were without a rental car, but the location had multiple shops in 5 min walkable distance, the walks were memorable, made so many friends even though we didnt speak Spanish. The locals made us feel home. The view was heavenly, with lake Arenal right in front and the wind-soul touching and even the majestic Arenal Volcano, we felt blessed! The swimming pool was the cherry, Kees takes a lot of pain to keep it very clean, with so many trees around, we were surprised to find it in sparkling condition always. Kees, Griselda, Victoria and especially Cookie lille doggie our local guide will always be unforgettable! We will definitely b back

La estancia en este lugar me pareció increíble. Una zona hermosa rodeada de naturaleza y a su vez, lo suficientemente cerca del centro de la ciudad para movilizarte fácilmente y además sus anfitriones muy hospitalarios desde el momento que ingresamos siempre pendientes de lo que necesitáramos, incluso nos permitieron entrar antes del check in y don Marco nos recomendó un lugar para visitar. La casa mucho más linda de lo que se observa en las fotos, muy ordenada y con todas las amenidades para poder instalarse de manera cómoda. Disfruté mucho este lugar y sin duda lo recomiendo a ojos cerrados, la vista al lago y la zona de camping es un plus y te permiten salir a conocer todo alrededor de la casa sin ningún problema. No duden en hospedarse acá, no se arrepentirán…

This place is an absolute gem! Very close to downtown La Fortuna but still so private and secluded. The backyard and natural pool are GORGEOUS and we even saw a sleeping sloth, monkeys in the trees, so many beautiful birds, and adorable agoutis running around. Our group of 7 fit perfectly and we loved that each room had its own bathroom. Just a heads up though that one of the bed+bathrooms is detached from the rest of the house so that is a bit more isolated/private. My family spent every morning outside listening to all the sounds of nature. We couldn't have asked for a better home for our stay and would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone traveling to La Fortuna.

Lovely place with a beautiful lake view. The check-in mechanism allow us enter at early morning when we were coming from my sister’s wedding. Greetings, I wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay. We loved the views of the lake and mountains. The view from the living room is a constant reminder of the incredible natural beauty of Arenal. We enjoyed how the morning light fills the house, especially the main bedroom. We cooked almost every day. Great stove and a well equipped kitchen was a plus and saved us a lot of money. The house is cozy with great views. The grounds are beautiful and enhance the surrounding natural beauty. We really enjoyed the quiet comfort of the house and the environment you have created. Alexandra est une hôte incroyable. Nous avons passé 10 jours de rêve chez elle. Elle est disponible, attentionnée, gentille et j’en passe. Le logement est fonctionnel, avec une vue sur la jungle. C’est très calme, parfait pour un dépaysement et avoir de la tranquillité.Il est indispensable d’avoir une voiture car le logement n’est pas tout prêt du centre et des autres activités. Je recommande à 100% !

Unser Aufenthalt bei Carole und Paul war großartig, wir haben uns wie Zuhause gefühlt. Das tägliche Frühstück war immer abwechslungsreich und sehr lecker. Die Unterkunft hat alles was man braucht und liegt direkt am See, die Aussicht ist wirklich schön. Alles war sauber und ordentlich. Carole und Paul waren sehr lieb, hilfreich und einfach zu erreichen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden definitiv wiederkommen.

Absolutely loved our stay! The property is stunning, with beautifully maintained grounds and breathtaking views of the volcano. Very private - no one else nearby. Our kids couldn’t get enough of the pool and jacuzzi—it was the perfect place to relax. The location is great too, just a quick and easy 15-minute drive into downtown. Kenneth was an exceptional host—super responsive and thoughtful, even leaving fresh coconuts in the fridge for us. We would definitely stay here again!

Esta lugar es una casa muy bonita con bastante espacio, la piscina muy linda y toda la propiedad está hermosa y cerca de la Fortuna de san Carlos. Tiene acceso a un río donde entra carro (algunas partes solo carro alto). La dueña de la casa nos trató super bien e incluso nos consiguió algunas cosas que queríamos. Recomiendo el lugar si les gusta pasar un buen rato en familia.
