Home away from home in Fort Gale

Great place and extremely clean. Host and Co Host are extremely welcoming and accommodative. We checked in after Midnight but the Co Host was kind enough to wake up and open for us even though she didn’t have to. The place is exactly how it being advertised. Would recommend any day.

We had such a lovely stay at Wildview. Our host, Steve is truly what you call a wholesome person. He was a super host. The breakfast we had each morning was absolutely delicious, and something different every morning. Don’t expect 5* accommodation, Steve describes his place accurately. This place is for easy-go-lucky people, people that like something different and appreciate the small things. Coffee Bay is such a beautiful place. Thanks Steve!

Beautiful well decorated cottage. Stunning views from the veranda and great open plan kitchen which is well thought out with everything you need. Bedrooms a good size with comfortable beds. Added bonus is the lovely Sisipho. Her smiling friendly face a treat. Lots of fabulous fresh crayfish, oysters and muscles offered by the locals daily. Beautiful beach a 5 min walk. Although quite a hike back up to the cottage. Plenty to do. Tasmin and Mike fantastic hosts. Highly recommended

Remote, peaceful & spectacular views. Worth the walk up the hill! Vuhile, our host, was brilliant. He went out of his way to make our stay memorable. Best experience we have had in the TRANSKEI so far. If you are looking for something special & different a visit to Basecamp Zebra is a must. House had everything one needed. Beds were comfortable & clean, enough towels & space is very well utilized. Great that there are 2 bathrooms with 2 toilets - helps when you are a crowd! The view from the verandah is just breathtaking -no photo can justify the real life experience. Thank you for allowing us to visit this hidden gem on the Wild Coast.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cottage and appreciated William’s help while there. Matt went out of his way to ensure we enjoy our time there. The cottage is well equipped and we had no electricity issues. Thank you and we will definitely be back!

Our first visit to the Transkei.. what an amazing experience! We loved every minute of it.. The cottage is comfortable, has everything you may need, and the most amazing view of the beach. Leading up to our stay Patricia was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. During our stay Corina was very helpful and pleasant. Highly recommend Davisons Cottage for your next visit to the beautiful Transkei! Hope to be visiting myself again in the not too distant future..

Judy and her place are excellent with a great view and just best to near by spots. She is not just a great host but a great chef and tour guide. I want to especially also talk about the great food that she and her team put on the table for the guests. they accomodate to every request you put forward. Amazing experience always book for more than 1 day.

We loved our stay at the cottage! a truly fantastic location, Elmarie and co were great hosts, helpful in every way. Fishing Cottage on the Wild Coast!

Wir haben uns in dem spektakulär gelegenen Haus von Helen & Colin sehr wohl gefühlt. Es ist geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet, es hat an nichts gefehlt. Der Blick über die Flussmündung ist wirklich ungewöhnlich schön, und das bei jedem Wetter! Wir haben das Kajak für einen Ausflug genutzt und fanden die Tour wunderschön! Überhaupt hat uns die Gelegenheit begeistert, in so einem ursprünglichen und abgelegenen Dorf inmitten der Einheimischen zu wohnen. Ein großes Dankeschön für diese Möglichkeit!

Very beautiful and peaceful. Armin and Sabina were amazing and it was a privilege to be part of their world, a world of fruit trees, orchards, ducks, chickens and horses. My daughters loved participating in the feeding of the animals and collecting the eggs. We also paddled the river and explored the wild beach. There is no electricity and it became so wonderful at night with all the candles. A highly recommend a destination.

We had a beautiful short stay. The host and the lady that welcome us were so friendly. We checked in very late because we were travelling from far, they were so kind and very helpful throughout the whole process. The room is well equipped with all the amenities to make the stay convenient, she went as far as providing an electric blanket and an extra blanket. The bed is comfortable and the room is squeaky clean. The lady that welcomed us at the venue is also so kind and approachable. We’d definitely recommend the place. We’re so grateful to Sindiswa for taking our late booking at a reasonable fee and accommodating us so well

The King's House -Cottage

Where do I start?? Coffee Shack. This is where you want to be when in Coffee Bay. We booked for 2 nights but simply had to extend an extra night. Hospitality at its best: Treated like kings, warm and friendly welcome from every staff member we greeted and the receptionists were very informative, easily reachable and always willing to make your stay an exceptional experience! We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and after a long drive a complimentary ice cold welcome beer was the most unexpected and oh so welcome! The King's House was fully equipped for self catering and most comfortable even though we never had to cook as the restaurant is reasonably priced and has wonderful food and great coffee!!! ( if you are here on a Sunday night you will also get a free meal for dinner!!) With sweeping views of the ocean and the beach, we never wanted to leave and we will definitely return to this piece of paradise!

I personally want to that Pauline for allowing me to check-in late. I work in hospital and I wasn’t able to get a day off for my day of traveling. She accommodated me nonetheless. The place looked better than the pictures. The bed was so comfortable and the shower was squeaky clean. I appreciated the extra blankets as well and the electric blanket. Lastly, Pauline’s staff were 100% kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place.
