Huisjes in Redcar and Cleveland

We have just returned from a lovely stay here at the Byre. The accommodation is exactly as described and the hosts were fantastic, providing lovely touches such as welcome baskets for us and the dogs. The location is great for exploring the local seaside towns, and very private. I would certainly recommend and would stay again.

We used Forge Cottage recently as a base for a girls trip and it was the perfect spot! It's exactly as it looks on the pictures - modern yet comfortable. We loved using the log burner and the hot tub particularly and the hosts had left us with enough fire starters and logs to get both going. The kitchen is well stocked with lots of lots of equipment and there's also plenty of storage for your own food too. The beds & pillows were all really comfy and it super king in the main bedroom felt particularly luxurious. The whole place was spotlessly clean, with dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and detergent provided. We felt at home right away and would love to come back again!

Firstly wow! The area in which this little cottage is set is beautiful, tranquil and private and has an enclosed garden for mine and my sister’s dogs. The welcome hamper was the best we’ve ever had with so many goodies in! Lots of local dog walks around the area and hotel grounds and we even found a waterfall after a heavy rainfall which was a lovely surprise. The cottage was clean and all beds made up, towels were provided too. Log fire and wood fired pizza oven and hot tub were so welcome on a foggy day when we were unable to travel. Wi-Fi was a bit hit and miss but not a real problem. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Only negative was only 2 windows open. We loved the fact we were surrounded by nature and birdsong and would have loved to have the windows open to make the most of this. Wouldn’t put us off going again as there are so many other areas we didn’t get to explore around there.

This is a great place to stay! The open plan living/kitchen/dining is stunning and perfect for relaxing while spending time together. We had 7 adults and 1 child in our group and the accommodation was the perfect size for us (not forgetting the dog, who loved wandering between the snug and the living area while being chased by my son!). The kitchen is really well equipped with a modern range cooker and you could comfortably sit 10 round the dining table, if not a couple more! The bedrooms were great sizes, all en-suite, and the backdrop of the fields and views of the coast were simple stunning. Caroline communicated so well with us, checking in to make sure everything was okay for our stay which, of course, it was! The Cleveland way passes directly in the front of the accommodation, thus giving easy access to a great route with fantastic views. We will be back!

Fabulous cottage in a great location for exploring the Cleveland Way . Mike and Claire are great hosts -very attentive whilst not intrusive. Great hot tub which was lovely to relax in after some fabulous walks. Kitchen is well stocked and everything was spotlessly clean

It’s a great house in a great location - 1 minute from the beach but tucked away up a quiet alleyway. Three big bedrooms. Kitchen was very well-equipped - lots of pans etc (and decent kitchen knives!). Night lights on the stairs and upstairs hallways were very useful.

Lovely stay! Right next to the pub for a quick pint, overlooks the river in Great Ayton, and a coffee shop down the road. Jenny was also a lovely host in communicating check in and check out. Also the cute little cereal boxes set up on the breakfast table was a lovely touch.

Just got home after a 4 day break and the cottage was perfect! I’m a decorator by trade and work on property development every day and so of course everywhere i stay i can’t help but look through that lens and i have to say well done! The cottage has been very tastefully decorated throughout and designed really well too! i even took photos of the portholes that have been cut into the dividing wall between stairs lounge and kitchen because they really work to give a unified feel to the whole of the ground floor space which for a 2 up2 down it really did feel like one larger space i liked that effect , it really works right builder hat off we loved it and used it as a base to travel about from the town too was perfect with every amenity on the doorstep would highly recommend Thank you hosts Ian & Jon

We had a great time at Jane’s place. The house was comfortable, homely and lovely and clean. We enjoyed trips out to Staithes and Whitby, both worth a visit. Thanks Jane for being a lovely host.

Outstanding. Iconic building, enormous inside, sea views from most windows and you could hear the waves crashing at night! Walking distance to everything and amazing roof terrace and balcony. Will definitely book again!

Stayed with my friends for a night and place was lovely. Just right for what we needed. Hot tub was a good size and good outdoor seating. Decor was lovely and quirky, gave off a really nice cottage and rustic feel

This is a gem of a cottage, well fitted out with great attention to detail. King size bed ,very comfortable. Several USB charging sockets. Five minute walk to a lovely, dog friendly beach. Fish and chip shop in village and a good restaurant, “ Kaskane” a short walk with a variety of good food, which also does takeaway food. Paul was an excellent host with great communication. Would definitely visit again.

The Cottage was fantastic. Really well appointed with everything you need for your stay. The location was great, straight out on to the beach with a short walk either way to Saltburn and Redcar. Communication was spot on. Some really nice touches from the host on arrival Would love to book again. 👍

We really enjoyed staying at Maureen’s house. It was easy to find and we paid extra for parking which was a real bonus for us. Great location - would visit again

We had a wonderful stay at Joe's cottage.its ideally situated to access the Cleveland Way and within short distances to other parts of the coastline. The cottage is well equipped and really cosy with a fantastic shower ... much needed after long walks. Everyone who lives and works at the harbour are friendly and make you welcome. Joe let us know on route that the cottage was ready which was great as we'd arrived ahead of time. Great holiday cottage, lovely host and beautiful surroundings = pure bliss!

Lovely location, would definitely recommend! Cottage was welcoming and easy access to everything Staithes has to offer. The only downside, sofas are a bit worn down and bed pillows could do with replacing.

what a beautiful place. Its difficult to express how wonderful the garden is at Prospect Cottage, so many levels and so pretty! The cottage is charming, so clean and comfortable. We loved our stay and will definitely return. So much to explore in this beautiful part of the world.

As a family we absolutely loved staying at North Lea cottage for 3 nights. The balcony to enjoy the tide coming in & out was a real hit with my parents. Its set in a beautiful spot. The cottage had lots of space for us all. The Cobbles did lovely hot chocolate & take away pizzas. We really enjoyed the meals at The Royal George. Staithes is a beautiful picturesque seaside town and we will definitely be back. Thanks Bianca for being so helpful.
