A great weekend getaway cabin. An hour from DC area, but totally secluded. Romantic or family fun (or both)- teeming with nature, including a small creek that runs in front of the house. We have rubber boots in almost every size for kids to use!
Come stay for a wonderful spring weekend, winery tours, rafting/fishing the Potomac!
A secluded stone cabin, just 50 minutes from Washington, DC and only minutes from Historic Harper's Ferry, a half-dozen of Virginia's finest wineries and access points to the Appalachian Trail and Potomac River. Our small home includes a separate Finnish sauna and outdoor shower. The house has central AC/heat, 2 working fireplaces, and a full kitchen.
We are just three minutes from whitewater rafting and tubing on the Potomac River.
The house is secluded with only two neighbors within 200 meters.
However, there is both casual and upscale dining within 20 minutes of our place.
The MARC train departs and returns daily on weekdays from Harper's Ferry and travels to Washington, DC.
Our place has been completely remodeled with a modern flair--including a cathedral ceiling in living room, stone walls and custom stairways. It's very small, but has 4 levels, making it seem larger.
The creek is steps from the door sounds very nice and helps cool the house in the evenings.
Book a rafting or tubing trip with Harper's Ferry Adventure Center.
Note: You should bring drinking water because, while ours is perfectly safe, it is well water that has high mineral content and smells a bit funny.
In the Spring we have lady bugs and stink bugs that always seem to be there no matter how much we vacuum them up. We'll get them all up the day you arrive, but be prepared to suck up a few more while there.

We are not living on the property, so we probably will not get a chance to meet. Our care takers are close by, so if you are looking for a party house or think of inviting many 'extra' guests, please move to the next listing.
Andere dingen waar je op moet letten
Note that the house has 4 beds--a private room with a Full bed and a queen bed and two single beds on the top level. While separated by a bathroom and short hallway the queen and single beds are on the same floor and are not private as there is no door between the spaces. The fifth bed is a futon mattress that can be placed on the third floor or down in the living room.
Leave it like you found it, please. Dogs that are well-behaved are allowed, but no cats (allergies). Don't leave dogs uncrated in the house while out for the day, unless you know they will be good. Do not attempt to access owner's shed or locked doors/footlockers. Do not play music loudly outside after 10:00pm. Only guests included with original reservation are allowed to overnight at the property.
No smoking in the house or the Sauna shed
No loud parties after midnight (sounds carry through the valley and we like our neighbors.
We have a septic system--so nothing but toilet paper goes in the toilets.
Bring your own music player. We have sound system in sauna room, but not main house.
There is no internet, but mobile phones (Verizon and ATT) work great.
