My place is good for families (with kids) that like the outdoors and farm atmosphere. We are surrounded by nature and farm animals are close by to go see first hand. An excellent place for hiking and enjoying the views. There is enough privacy that you can enjoy your own time and space, but offer any assistance. Also the washer and dryer allows for not having to pack a large amount of clothing and to dry them out after a rainy walk through the cloud forest. A crib is available if needed.
Our cottage was originally built in 1964 for families of hired help that worked on the farm. It had several additions made as some of the families grew and needs changed. Today it has been remodeled, still keeping much of it's rustic charm.
Most of the wood structure is made from trees that were on the farm and cut some 50 years ago in the then existing sawmill, where the cheese factory is today.
Several places of interest are close by such as the Ficus Trails, Monteverde Biological Preserve, the cheese factory, the Bajo del Tigre trails, and San Luis Community. Arrangements can be easily made to be picked up for other adventure attractions such as the zip lines, canopy tours, horse back riding, bungees, an more that are located North of Santa Elena.
The cottage is also within a short walking distance to where you can catch the public bus that runs between Santa Elena and the Monteverde Biological Preserve.
You will find posted in the cottage a list of telephone numbers for different services including taxis if needed.
The cottage's wrap-around porch allows you to be able to sit and enjoy the different views both of the Pacific Ocean and especially the wildlife such as birds (Brown Jays, Toucans, Quetzals, Black Guans, and Chachalacas) to name a few. Our furry friends are also around though more elusive such as the Agouti, squirrels, Armadillos, Coatis, and and, if you are really lucky, White faced monkeys.
Getting to the cottage with your own vehicle is not a problem. even though the road is narrow and rough it's accessible even with a automobile.

The farm is open to visitors as long as you stay on the main road. There are available trails, but need someone from the family to accompany and guide you.
