It is difficult to put into words the magic of Convento 2 and its wonderful host. The house is situated in the midst of a banana plantation (yet a short scenic walk or drive, as you prefer, from the historical centre of San Andres). The only thing you will hear around, day or night, are the waves crashing on the shore below - and my, the meditative hours one can spend below on the promenade admiring them crash against the imposing cliffs).
The house is renovated with enormous love and good taste and respect for its island's history and culture: all details thoughtfully integrated in perfect aesthetic harmony. My greatest difficulty every day was to choose whether to stay in the cosy bedroom rocking chair, in front of the window to watch the sea, to sit at the living room table and stare through the windows at the same full-horizon view of the sea, or to go out, have a short walk on the promenade to the natural pools of Charco Azul or the black sand beach of Puerto Espindola. Tough choice, as all options are endlessly inviting and impossible to get bored with.
I leave last the unbelievable warmth and friendliness of Senora Tere, who is there to welcome you full-heartedly, always open to question and full of helpful tips whatever your question, and kindly and motherly leaves gifts of the sweetest mangos and fresh vegetables.
It has been an unforgettable stay and I cannot wait to return!
