Guests have access to a reading and tv lounge room and all day access to the breakfast room for coffee and tea and if you bring back food from the many take away shops close by.
This is a very significant building in Sorell because of its various uses over its long history relating to the development of the town and for its location at the centre of the major civic area of the early township of Sorell.
The building has high quality stonework with very fine stone detailing around the ground floor windows. The building has a deep pitched roof and also has a basement which is accessed by a cellar door at street level for ease of loading. The structure also has a ballroom.
The original hotel was a single storey timber structure built for William Currie in 1829. The Bluebell Inn became a an important meeting place in Sorell with a number of important public meetings taking place there up until it's destruction by fire in 1863. Following the fire, William Gard replaced the destroyed timber building with a substantial stone Georgian hotel comprising two levels that occupied a prominent location in what was originally the main street.

A delightful B&B filled with character and charm. The hosts have big plans for the place and we look forward to returning to see it come to fruition. Great communicators, delicious breakfast, couldn't be better.

Beautiful old inn converted to B&B with original fixtures and enough modern fixtures to make it comfortable for us spoiled millennials. Lovely couple just starting the business up with lots of exciting plans! Definitely worth a stay if you like antique-y stays and friendly hosts!

Staying at the Inn was a beautiful and warming experience. Sandee and hubby are wholesome and generous humans and welcomed us into their home with open hearts and arms. The Inn has a strong history of tending to the travellers every need and this beautifully aged establishment is as newly revived and is now happily in it's modern hay day! A home away from home with your every amenity catered for. Thank you for enriching our Tasmanian travel experience. Highly recommended. X

Sandee was very forthcoming and available to answer my questions before we arrived and accommodating with an earlier check-in time. She was welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Sorrell does not have much in terms of places to eat but on the plus side the building is in a very quiet street and surrounded by beautiful nature. The drive from/to Hobart is scenic and quite spectacular at times.

Sandee and Bryan are a lovely couple who recently took over the Blur Bell Inn. This place is full of character and has a huge potential. The room was really clean and comfortable, ideal after a big day of hiking. Perfect location to stop half way between Hobart and Port Arthur. The town has also 2 supermarkets and some restaurants. Oh and they also provide a nice continental breakfast. Definitely recommend this place!!!

I grew up in beautifulI Noosa but have always jumped at any opportunity to travel. I love everything about traveling from meeting new people, trying new foods, experiencing different cultures and hearing new languages. I have had the opportunity to live in Sydney, London, Perth, Melbourne, Vanuatu and back to Noosa.
I usually work as a chef and just recently sold my organic cafe. My partner Brian and I have just moved to Tasmania from Qld after falling in love with it and have bought an empty Inn which we are bringing back to life.
Things I love to do:- explore food and places, yoga, art and music.
