We offer our cozy, colorful private guest room for your stay. Our home is a classic Rhode Island triple decker, a three family home located on the East Side of providence within walking distance to Brown and RISD. We live in a lovely pedestrian and bicycle friendly neighborhood, a few minutes from local pubs, shopping, restaurants and mass transit. With inexpensive Uber service, you’re never far from what you need.
This private room is on the 2nd floor of a 3 family classic triple decker home, common to this neighborhood. Our home has a 2 bedroom, 1 bath layout with hardwood floors and a double parlour separated by an archway. The bedrooms overlook an uncommon site in the middle of the city - a beautiful half acre garden lovingly tended by our neighbor. We love waking up to the sunshine and views of what is blooming there throughout the year.
This type of house is typical of the early 20th century when Providence was booming from its industrial trades and building multi-family homes to support a growing population. Providence's industry has changed since then, with the city now reviving itself as "The Creative Capital".
It is cozy, colorful, and snug here - we call it home.

We respect the privacy of our guests and want them to feel comfortable when they are in our home. We are happy to give everyone their own space or hang out and share what we've discovered during our time so far in Providence.
We enjoy cooking for people or giving advice on what to check out in the city. We leave meals up to our guests but are happy to make enough to share. We pride ourselves on delicious, creative cooking.
Morning Tea / Coffee:
We are tea lovers, so more often than not have a good selection to brew a warm cuppa! We also have fresh ground coffee sometimes mixed with custom spices on hand for a french press, if that's your style. Weekends often mean our special spiced chai is on hand, too.
We work in town during the weeks, so are more available to advise and assist guests during evenings and weekends.
Andere dingen waar je op moet letten
Please let us know of any special needs when booking, and we will do our best to accommodate your requests.
A few notes:
Cat - A cat lives here, too. She has been with us for many years and mainly hangs out in the living room, sleeping on a chair. She stays out of the guest bedroom and is well-trained enough to stay off the couch.
Personal space - Our home is cozy and snug. Our bedroom shares a wall with the guest bedroom, and our floor is our neighbor's ceiling. Walls and floors are sturdy here, but we do ask guests to tread lightly so everyone sleeps peacefully.
Check-in is 3pm-8pm and checkout is at noon, unless we discuss other options. Please give us your ETA.
Please take shoes off while inside our home.
The kitchen, dining, living and bathroom are common areas. Please keep clean and tidy.
If you wish to cook in our kitchen, ask in advance. We are happy to coordinate.
Help us keep our home private. Please hold any meetings with others during your stay at nearby locations like Seven Stars Bakery (north) or Blue State Coffee (south).
The guest room has a limit of 1-2 people.
Quiet time after 10p weekdays, 11:30p weekends.
Our bar and musical instruments are for our private use only, though they are in the common areas.
I am a transplant from Texas living in Rhode Island since 2014. I am a designer and program director working with a local environmental nonprofit. My husband is a scientist who studies protein evolution.
I absolutely love to travel, having traipsed internationally across Tuscany, Oxford and London, a few Mexican beach excursions, and Montreal. In the states, I've enjoyed spending time checking out the old spirits of cities like New Orleans, the ever changing vibes of metro NYC and Chicago. I've loved quaint trips around my beloved Texas, enjoying the plains and forests of the Dallas/Fort Worth areas, the fiesta attitude of San Antonio, and the lazy glory of Austin and the surrounding Hill Country. I now enjoy getting to know the craggy coasts and hidden treasures of New England cities and towns. I've enjoyed getting to know Providence's quirky food scene, the beaches and quaint villages of RI, as well as historic Boston and Salem, MA.
My favorite way to visit a new place is with my husband, Chintan (a well-seasoned traveler with far more dots on his "visited" map), asking cab drivers where they'd take their sweetheart out for dinner - we've found the best places to eat that way. Finding good food through good people has become a favorite way for us to get to know and love a city.
