Cute place off the beaten path. We caught 21 crabs in the 5 nights we stayed and had delicious boiled crabs every night. Relaxing, honey atmosphere and gracious, communicative host. We brought our own wifi hotspot since we were traveling for work, which worked out great for us since there was no wifi. We didn't watch any tv during our stay so didn't get a chance to try out the rabbit ear antenna, but my coworker did check out the jacuzzi tub and didn't have any complaints! Would stay again as long as I had a hotspot!

If you're looking for quiet and relaxation this is the place for you and your family. It's so clean and decorated like something out of a magazine. My family had a blast using the crap trap and catching blue crabs right off the dock. You can even watch the dolphins feeding in the mornings and evenings. There are seafood stores on each end of the dead end road where the shrimp boats come in each morning to unload their catch of the day. We stocked up when we left for home with fresh oysters, jumbo shrimp, and snapper. They even pack it on ice for you. We went to Gulf Shores Beach one day which is only a few miles away but I enjoyed the Bon Secour tranquility better. There are wonderful seafood restaurants close by as well. This place has everything you need. It was like home away from home.

My whole group LOVED this spot. It is part of a cluster of cottages across from the Bon Secour River, pretty enough to warrant its own visit (including dock access and the occasional dolphin sighting). It's a quiet location, tucked away in wonderfully quaint fishing neighborhood. It's just a short drive to the beach, which was our purpose for the trip. The beds were extremely comfy, and access was clear and easy. The cottage was clean and stocked with towels, extra bottled water, and even a few snacks. Our host, Linda, couldn't have been better. She went above and beyond, letting us check in early to accommodate our beach plans, and continued to check in with us throughout the weekend to make sure we had everything we needed. She was such a delight, I fully intend to stay in touch.

There are six things that I can't live without which are - Love of family and friends, Good Food and Drink, Music, Books, Art and TRAVEL.

I am a traveler - not a tourist. I like to mix with people who live in the destinations where I travel in the restaurants, cafes, pubs, shops, etc.
Favorite destinations are the UK, Ireland, Western Europe, Alaska, Canada, and trips all around the US.

British books and movies are among my favorites. Jazz, Blues, and old 50's and 60's music are what I usually listen to, although I do like Celtic music very much.

I like to try local cuisine when traveling and like to visit local grocery stores to check out what they have availabe for a quick sandwich or snack. I also see what the locals are drinking (beer, wine, whisky, etc.) and usually give it a try.

As far as hosting, I want my guests to find a clean and comfortable cottage where they can relax and enjoy the peacefulness of the river, the closeness of the seafood markets, and the top notch restaurants and shopping nearby.

My Motto is - Enjoy life, Love and Respect others, and by all means - TRAVEL!
