Narrow alleys with the small and beautiful houses of Messenia nestle up to a medieval castle that is picturesquely extending to the sea like a sharp triangle on the southern Cape of Messenia.
The holiday house KASTRO stands in a row with other detached houses on the hill, in a dead end of the historic section of Koroni, right beneath the castle walls. KASTRO means castle and is areference to the charming location of this holiday house.
The old, former family house was built in the sixties in the traditional design of the region. It was refurbished in 2006 and from then on let to holiday guests. The practically furnished holiday house KASTRO is on elevated ground floor and can be accessed via 10 steps. It is not far away from the port promenade and the beautiful sandy beach Zaga. The basement of the house is not developed. The small terrace of the holiday house is enclosed between the wall of the house next door to one side and the castle wall to the rear and therefore appears like a small, sight-protected courtyard. From the terrace you get to the living-/dining room with an open kitchen. The bedrooms and the shared bath are adjoining to the living-/dining room. The high, bright wooden ceiling in all rooms creates a comfortable, airy atmosphere in the house. Bright and simple furnishing with some colour accents, a practical residential comfort and the atmosphere of past times define the interior of the holiday house KASTRO. Parking facilities are on the street in front of the house.
It is only 300 m, via some steps and down the hill, to the port promenade of Koroni with its beautiful port scenery, taverns and cafés. The location of this holiday house is perfect for you if you want to be close to the village life during your holiday and have short ways if you have to run a few errands.
Two of the most beautiful beaches of this region are bordering to each side of the village. Some kilometres further north you find the less well-known sandy beach of Aghia Triada. In southwestern direction of the charming village centre the Zaga beach is extending along the coast. The sandy beach Zaga starts in a distance of approx. 500m from the holiday house, below the western side of the castle. You can also go there by car – possible all year round with the exception of August.
