You're welcome in a quiet, comfortable, modern home just 4km/5min from the city. Enjoy the half-acre of gardens from a spa pool nestled up in a secluded area, or simply relax in the sunny conservatory that boasts a 180° panorama of the city & harbour.
The room rate you pay is all-inclusive, giving you shared access to the common areas of the entire property. The bedroom features a comfortable queen bed with a fitted heated blanket, clean comfy flannelette sheets and duvet, plush pillows, a desk, office chair, wardrobe and bedside tables. Towels are provided. A modern panel heater is set on a timer, ensuring your room is warm first thing in the morning and during those chilly Dunedin evenings.
Normally the room has 1 queen bed for two guests. If you don't mind a single air mattress for the extra person (also with a heated blanket) the room can accommodate up to 3 people. If you would like to use the air mattress with only 2 guests, no worries! Just let us know.
Self-serve breakfast (fruit, cereals, milk, eggs, bread, spreads) and tea/coffee are included in your room rate. Cold beer is provided at cost!

In addition to your private room, you'll have access to all the common areas of the house, including a shared bathroom with heated tile floors and a spa bath, a full modern kitchen with espresso machine, dishwasher and gas cooking, the upstairs lounge with a logburner and big screen TV, a BBQ on the back deck, a verandah and of course the sunny conservatory. There's a large outdoor spa pool in a secluded area you should take advantage of too! The house has fast, quality WiFi and a complete entertainment system you are welcome to share.
Andere dingen waar je op moet letten
We feel the whole Airbnb experience is enhanced when your hosts are home to greet you at the door, pick you up at the bottom of our hill if you don't have a car, carry your luggage inside and give you a tour of the property to get you settled in. It's just not the same if we leave you to fend for yourselves on arrival! Because Leanne and I both work, check in is after 6pm. We are generally quite flexible on check-out times.
If you are not travelling with your own car, please have a look at my notes under 'Getting Around'. The best way to the city from Dunedin Airport is via the shuttles, as it is a pricey taxi ride. Shuttles are usually around $20-30, can be booked online easily, and will bring you straight to Kauri St.
We're pretty easy to get along with here - all we ask is:
• Please avoid arriving prior to check-in at 6pm unless prior arrangement has been made;
• Please ask before bringing any visitors;
• If you smoke outside, please dispose of your butts appropriately;
• Please try to keep noise in the bedroom area to a minimum after 9pm or when others may be sleeping;
• Please do not place anything hot (drinks, bowls or similar items) on wood surfaces like tables, instead use the coasters or mats provided, or just ask! We are happy to help :-)
我們是很容易相處在這裡 — — 我們唯一的要求是︰
• 請嘗試將雜訊在居室面積降到最低後 9 下午, 或當其他人可能在睡覺
When my partner Leanne and I are home we enjoy spending time with our guests and are happy to provide our local knowledge, including recommendations for getting the most out of your time in Dunedin and the South Island. Two other rooms are available (one upstairs and one downstairs) that are sometimes occupied by intrepid Airbnb travellers such as yourself, or longer-term housemates :-)
I'm a geologist in my mid-thirties who has lived in Australia, the US and now New Zealand. I like to spend my free time kayaking, camping, tramping and skiing, or simply relaxing with a good book or sharing a few drinks with my mates. Most of my overseas holidays are based around outdoor activities like scuba diving, sailing and generally just getting out on the water!
I quite enjoy welcoming guests into my home, and I look forward to meeting every one of you. I've found the quality of people that use Airbnb to be extremely high - I've never hosted anyone I didn't get along with. I do my best to be as accommodating as I can by making your stay a home away from home, as if you are staying with an old friend.
