Residence Anthala was built in the 1980s so is typical of the era. It is a five minute walk to local shops: Boulangerie/café, Casino mini-market (7 days), Tabac, Hairdresser, Pharmacy and takeaways. Lidl is 12 mins walk up St-Claude and Carrefour is a 5 minute drive or 3 stops by bus.

The apartment is on the 3rd floor at the back of the building overlooking the well-maintained gardens, so it's very quiet.

There is a main 25m pool and a baby pool. The two tennis courts are excellent too.

Toegang voor gasten
When you book, you will have complete use of the apartment. Jeff, who manages the space, lives in another block, but is a phone call away. He knows Anthala and the area very well.

The apartment is 37m2 with a 20m2 balcony

The apartment is in very good condition, but there is flaking on the ceiling of the balcony. Unfortunately this is the responsibility of the management company (syndic) and they have said it will be repaired when the exterior of the building is redecorated in 2020 or early 2021. Until the celling is redecorated, I can't replace the original exterior blinds - although they do work perfectly well. You almost certainly won't notice the ceiling once you are sitting with a glass of chilled wine enjoying the tranquil view!

Anthala is in a very nice residential neighbourhood. Chemin de Saint-Claude is busy as it's a main route between Sophia-Antipolis and Antibes but as the apartment is at the rear, you will find it very quiet. The super-eco Bustram opened in 2020 and there is a stop outside Anthala to create a superb fast link to Antibes bus/train stations (2 stops) and the town centre in 3 stops. Although it's only 10-12 min stroll to the stations and 15 mins to the town, the Bustram is a very modern convenience which means you can be on the beach or in a restaurant within 10 minutes. The bustram also goes direct to the Carrefour superstore in the other direction. If you buy tickets in advance all journeys are just 80cents. (€8 for 10 tickets) or €1.50 on the bustram.
