A traditional Japanese Kyoto RYOKAN style house in an authentic village in the north of The Netherlands. The house is in the middle of the litlle village fully equipped. You can relax in a Japanese way wearing yukata(kimono) in the tatami mat rooms.

The area offers pretty villages and has nice cyclingroutes. We are close to the Waddensea and about half an hour away from the ferry to Lauwersmeer, the ferry to Schiermonnikoog (nice beaches!) & Groningen City & University (20 minutes).

The Kyoto style ryokan is located in a historical village in the north of Groningen( The Netherlands, Europe).

Easy to access lots of major spots in Groningen City(only 20 minutes by train or car)
and the countryside.

The area offers pretty villages and has nice cyclingroutes. We are close to the Waddensea with marshlands and about half an hour away from the ferry to Lauwersmeer National Park & the ferry to Schiermonnikoog (nice beaches!).

There is a supermarket 2 minutes walk from the house, so you can cook in the house and there are 2 restaurants in the village when you don't like to cook. You can also go to Groningen City if you want to have excellent Japanese food at theJapanese Restaurant Hanasato. They are the only restaurant in Groningen where they cook in the real Washoku style.

The house:
It is a Japanese style house so you cannot wear you CANNOT WEAR YOUR SHOES IN THE ENTIRE HOUSE.
Near the entrance there are slippers which you can wear in the house.
On the TATAMI MATS(which are in the bedrooms and in the living room) you can only walk on bare feet or with your socks on, NO SLIPPERS.

The house has 2 Japanese style tatami bedrooms. It has 1 toilets, 1 Japanese style bathroom , a living room and a Kitchen. There is free high speed Wi-Fi.
There are free drinks (tea, the Japanese green tea), and the kitchen utensil are prepared, too.

This is a traditional Japanese style house with shoji (Japanese windows wich are sliding fom right to left or left to right). The door to the living room is the only sliding door in the house.

• No shoes in the entire house, only slippers or socks
• No smoking
• Quiet hours form 10pm to 7 am
• No parties or large gatherings
• Please report any damages that occur while you are in the residence
• Check-out at 5pm (when it is a Sunday) on any other days at 12:00

PARKING:
You can only park your car on the parking place (with +/- 10 parking spots) next to the house. Do not park your car on the driveway of the house

THE KITCHEN: In the kitchen next tot the outside door on your left you will find a button switch on the floor. The rest of the lamps in the kitchen have their own switches.

USE THE
HEATHER: You can find the thermostat at the wall in the kitchen. It is the wall opposite the kitchendoor,Please push on the arrow 'up' to warm the place(22 de degrees is nice).

USE THE LIGHT IN
THE HALL: You can find the switches next to the toilet door and next tot he mirror(on the right).

LIVINGROOM: In the livingroom next tot the sliding door you can find a box on the wall. It is like a remote control, but do not take it from the wall. : ) The buttons RIGHT are to TURN ON the lights of the entire room. The buttons LEFT are to SWITCH OF the lights.
