Beautiful and lovingly renovated Coach House in the heart of Pilton village, set in the lush private grounds of our family home. Two double bedrooms, one with free-standing roll top bath (option to add an extra bed/cot for a child); shower room; large open-plan kitchen, dining area and sitting room, with two sets of double doors leading to a private outdoor dining terrace (with BBQ & fire pit); view and shared use of our paddock with rope swing, baby swing and trampoline for children.

De ruimte
The Coach house is adjacent to our family home and dates from the early eighteenth century. The surrounding 1.5 acre paddock has an abundance of beautiful mature trees, as well as plenty of room to roam. We have a culvert, complete with Monet bridge.
The building has been carefully renovated, retaining many original features whilst offering modern comforts, and is furnished with a thoughtful blend of antique and bespoke furniture. We provide hotel quality linen and bedding, as used by The Pig and Firmdale hotels.
The well appointed kitchen, complete with large Rangemaster cooker (with gas hobs/electric ovens) and large fridge/freezer, leads onto the south-west facing terrace, perfect for summer dining. In the cooler months, there is plenty of space to cosy up indoors and the flagstone floor has top of the range underfloor heating.
Upstairs, in keeping with the original age of the property, we have reclaimed, solid oak flooring throughout.
The Coach house has fast Wi-Fi, a Smart TV and a Bluetooth speaker. We have a washing machine and tumble dryer and if you have little ones, we can provide a high chair, travel cot, kids' crockery & cutlery and a basket of toys & books. Tea, coffee, olive oil, sugar, salt and pepper all in stock. On arrival, there will be a pint of organic milk (dairy free if you prefer) and a loaf of fresh bread. If you want to order an online shop to be delivered prior to your stay, we will happily put it away for you.

Locatie

Pilton, Engeland, Verenigd Koninkrijk

The Coach house is set in the heart of Pilton (location of the Glastonbury festival). The picturesque village has origins dating back to the first century, with a beautiful medieval church clinging to the hillside and fully restored fourteenth century Tithe barn. The countryside is gorgeous and there are great local walks within the village itself, or further afield (we can provide maps and advice!). There is a play park, playing fields and skate park, overlooking the festival site. If you walk round Worthy farm with kids, there is a tree top walk way, nature reserve, big pirate ship and pink fairy castle to play on. Pilton has a handy Co-op, a pub (The Crown) and working man's club - both good for a drink. If you’re with us on a Friday, the village has great pop up fish & chips with delicious vegetarian/vegan options too. Shepton Mallet is our nearest town (two miles) with a pretty market square, several cafés and an Art bank. There is a large Tesco in Shepton, a Waitrose in Wells and great markets in both towns on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Also a well stocked farm shop in nearby Pylle (Jon Thorners). The surrounding villages boast lovely places to eat - The Sheppey in Godney, The Talbot Inn in Mells, The Chapel in Bruton, The Roth Bar and Grill at Hauser and Wirth (great local art gallery & gardens to visit), The Newt (beautiful gardens) Lievetos in Lovington and many more. The beautiful town of Wells is seven miles drive with its stunning cathedral and Bishops palace. Glastonbury Tor, Abbey and town are very close and well worth a visit, as are the towns of Bruton and Frome (amazing flea market takes over the whole town on the first Sunday of every month). Historic Bath is 35 minutes drive. If you are attending an event at the Bath and West show ground, we are ten minutes away. Other places of local interest: Wookey hole, Cheddar Gorge, climbing at Burrington Combe, Longleat and Stourhead, to name but a few. The Dorset Coast makes a great day trip (one hour & fifteen minutes drive) - Burton Bradstock, Lyme Regis, West Bay. There is river swimming nearby at pretty West Lydford and an outdoor Lido (prefect for kids) in Shepton Mallet.
