A NO SMOKING PROPERTY

Our avocado farm, "Vista Lunes" is a welcoming oasis in south-west Costa Rica. It's a great stopping point along your in-land travels from further north, en route to/from Panama, or just for a lovely respite from more touristy areas. We offer an authentic rural experience combined with US comforts and English/Spanish speaking hosts.

NOTE: We offer a complementary fruit breakfast with your stay. With a day's notice, we are happy to make you dinner $10 single, $15 couple.

De ruimte
Lovingly constructed with attention to comfort and detail, your casita awaits! Set into a 30-year old stand of trees you will enjoy privacy, yet your host's home is on the same property should you need anything.

Your casita includes punch-pad security entrance; a very comfortable queen bed with wonderful bedding in a private bedroom; a pull-out couch for a third/forth person; great breakfast nook; fabulous walk-in stone shower; and an amazing large deck overlooking the trees, farm-land, and mountains.

Waar je zult verblijven

Pérez Zeledón, San José, Costa Rica

Country - Costa Rica

Province - San Jose (though we are no where near the capital of San Jose!) We are a 3-hour drive, south, over the central mountains, or 4-hour drive along the Pacific Ocean before cutting east toward San Isidro de General and then southwest.

Closest large area - San Isidro de General (and then 30+ minute drive southwest). Along this drive you will pass through Palmares (small mall, Walmart and BM Supermarket), then on to the rural areas of Mollejones and San Rafael de Plantanares.

Main Area - Perez Zeledon (similar to a county in the US)

Sub-Main Area - The "Plantanares" region. This area of south-central Costa Rica is home to large pineapple, sugar cane, coffee and other farm/plantations (fincas). You can find wide open spaces as well as in-land mountains still covered in original-growth jungle. The vistas are beautiful and varied.

Smaller Map Points - Villa Argentina (de Plantanares), the pueblo where our place is located, is close to (5 minute drive on well maintained dirt road) San Rafael de Plantanares, our local town center where there are some small eateries and local shops.

I've been accused of wearing rose-colored glasses - and I guess I do - I see the beauty and goodness in most everyone and approach strangers as friends! There's no hiding my wanderlust or curiosity about the connections that weave through all of humanity. I love the opportunity to share the wonderful things about where I live with AirBnB guests and, when I travel, smile as I meet other hosts who open up their homes and encourage others to seek out the best in the communities where THEY live. It's a beautiful thing . . I work from home - or wherever I am - as an Executive with an international nutrition company, helping athletes, those looking to age more healthfully, and those wanting to rid themselves of toxins and excess weight. You can also find me teaching yoga - mostly outside along the banks of lakes or rivers or on a paddle board in the water. After playing tennis for 30 years, my knees are much happier now on my road and hybrid bicycles. I've ridden from LA to San Diego, Miami to Key West, Pittsburgh to DC, explored 300 miles of very hilly terrain around the Finger Lakes in upstate NY, and know all the Rail Trails between Philadelphia and the Poconos! My next trip is through the countryside of Scotland - with many more to come. If you host me, I'll likely have my bike(s), paddle boats and yoga mat in my car, and if I host YOU, I'm happy to share any or all of these passions! As I'm about to be an empty nester, the next phase of my travels will undoubtably include an Airstream trailer . . . possibly living a nomadic lifestyle while searching the Americas for a forever home - probably on a clear lake near the mountains somewhere! After living in CT, Puerto Rico, Buffalo, San Francisco, and most recently the Lehigh Valley in PA, I'm only beginning to narrow it down! So many interesting places yet to see . . . Most recently, I purchased a beautiful piece of property with my long time friend, Oscar, in the mountains of his home country of Costa Rica! We are creating an avocado farm, and mini-retreat for travelers who appreciate being off the beaten path and want the true flavor and local hospitality of this lovely place. Come visit our newly constructed casita and let us host you! I’ve always been a minimalist and have pared down my belongings in anticipation of a simpler life . . but those things I'll never be without are: my solid oak swing with "jungle rope" that I hang in whatever tall tree may be nearby; a set of Global knives and Waring blender with only an ON/OFF switch; and a pair and a spare pair of flip flops for any day over 40 degrees. Happy travels to all who wander!

Tijdens je verblijf

One of the owners is American, the other is a native by birth - literally growing up in the southern jungle for 10 years of his childhood - and then moved to the US for 20 years. So, although you are in for an authentic Costa Rican experience, communication will be easy.

If you prefer quiet uninterrupted time, we respect your privacy. If you care to know more about the surrounding area, the avocado farm, or share stories, we are equally happy to chat with you!
