Loveless Lake is a cozy remote lake for hot summer days and cold winter nights. Bald Eagles 🦅 fly overhead and land regularly. The depth of the lake is very shallow which means very warm water. Boat all day on the lake and stay warm in the evening in the hot tub or by the fire. Clear water, sand bottom. The cabin has a large yard and deck, fire pit and charcoal grill. Perfect for 2-3 families to enjoy with enough beds to go around. Canoe and small fishing boat with engine are great fun!

De ruimte
To ensure 100% accuracy of the listing I explain the “downsides” of the rental before I explain why The Little Red Cabin has perfect 5 star ⭐️ feedbacks and is so popular!

The hill is steep for anyone with bad knees or elderly individuals that struggle with climbing. There is about a 40 foot vertical difference from the road to the lake. The cabin is approximately 20 feet lower than the road. The cabin is about 10 feet lower than the bottom of the driveway. There are no railings or handles to hold on any inclines or stairs except the very top of the deck. The vertical climb from the late to the cabin is approximate 20 feet. There are about 30 stairs from the cabin to the lake.

There is no indoor bathroom. Do not book if you do not have experience with an outdoor outhouse / pit privvy. There is a small hut outdoors, you use the bathroom down the hole. It is similar to a porta-potty. It is not fun or snazzy, I have had complaints about the smell and cleanliness. Pit privvies are not clean and they don’t smell good. Please don’t book if you need indoor plumbing and hotel accommodations

Note the algae bloom listed below has subsided to a normal level that is expected in lakes in Minnesota, the county has said that swimming and water recreation can resume:
Algae background: The lake has a bloom of algae called Planktothrix Rubescens. This algae is also classified as a bacteria. These bacteria are commonly observed in lakes of the Northern Hemisphere where they are known producers of potent hepatotoxins called microcystins. These algae form when there is abundant phosphorus in the water which is part of their food source. The DNR has not banned swimming or eating the fish, however they have made recommendations. They recommend that animals and people do not drink the lake water. If you catch a fish only eat the meat and clean it with fresh water, but do not eat the fish organs. If you do go into the water rinse off well with the hose after swimming, use 🧼 soap. Swim at your own discretion. Do not drink the lake water, don’t let your pets drink the lake water. The algae in this lake has high toxicity. Microcystins are hepatoxic cyclic peptides that can lead to acute liver failure. Microcystins have chronic long term effects on all trophic levels in the water from bacteria to fish and can promote tumors in mammals.

The fishing boat is not running well, it won’t pull start. I have put out the canoe and dock

There is no indoor bathroom. Outhouse only.
The kitchen is being remodeled. Appliances all work.
The front yard currently has little grass because construction work in the fall.
There is a functional outhouse to go to the bathroom
There are working new kitchen appliances: Fridge, Gas Oven / Stove, Microwave

*The well is on for the summer season, ice cold water great for drinking from the hose! Let it run a little first to clear out the hose and to get ice cold water directly from the earth. Tested last year and it is healthy and delicious!
*The dock is not yet in the water, soon we will roll the 2 docks into the lake. Inquire if you need it in sooner or need a real time update

The outdoor outhouse is a pit privy that is designed to look like a miniature cabin. It was built to look like our cozy little red cottage. It is a traditional style outhouse to use the restroom. There is a toilet seat and you will use the restroom by sitting, there is no flushing because it goes down the hole. In the outhouse is candles, incense, toilet paper, wet wipes, and hand sanitizer.

Hose water is available to rinse and bathe. The lake is also a great spot to bathe with a bar of soap. After cleaning off with the hose or lake, the hot tub is the perfect spot for a sunset soak.

The kitchen has new functional stainless steel stove, microwave, and fridge. However, there are cabinets in the kitchen area that are in the process of being installed. Also the cabinets are a bit in the way. Please see the photos, they are all up to date.

Please note we do not allow any drugs, smoking, or excessive partying. All of the above with result in a cleaning fee of $100-300 depending on severity

Please note that any damages to the property will result in professional repairs with contractor pricing. This includes damage to the walls, flooring, interior, exterior, appliances, hot tub, or any physical, biological or natural structure.

Phenomenal hiking is nearby at Taylor’s Falls! The massive waterfall now converted into hydroelectric dam provides incredible views of prehistoric rock formations and the associated museum demystifies the natural wonders observed in the massive rocks. Trails stretch for miles. Eagles, Hawks, and Falcons circle overhead continuously

Dawn-Doe-Rosa is the ultimate children’s destination or a romantic date for adults. It’s a wildlife feeding lark where the deer, ducks, and other animals roam freely and you can feed them a handful of corn 🌽

St. Croix falls has everything you need from a Walmart, Movie Theater, Tractor Supply, and Grocery Store.

Balsam Lake is the hub for fun! The lake is massive if you want to rent a boat or pontoon for an afternoon.

Top Spot bar on the Main Street is the local watering hole after work or on Friday and Saturday night. Good drinks. Don’t be shy to go upstairs for Pool and Darts!

The Thirsty Otter Bar is THE place to go on Balsam Lake. Drive or boat up to the Otter and you will not be disappointed by this hole in the wall. Decent quality meals and good drinks served all day and night. Bar food late in the evening. Pull tabs on demand.

Doc’s bar on the Main Street is a great place with an older and more quiet crowd. My grandpa loves to eat the salad bar and occasional buffet there. Occasional live music on the weekends. Pool tables in the back. Docs is the local dive.

Paradise Landing (recently renamed) is a gorgeous and massive restaurant and bar on the lake. Originally planned as an event hall and resort, this enormous bar sits right on the water on Balsam Lake and offers beautiful scenery. However, be warned, the restaurant service is not good and the food is not good. But it’s a great destination for a beer from a can or bottle. Sit on the patio for the best views in town of Balsam Lake.

Indian head Supper Club is the “best” restaurant in Town. This is where you can take a date for dinner and enjoy the quality service and good food. I recommend the Prime Rib over the Filet.

The Laurel Inn is a far drive but it is a great restaurant if you are looking for some above average dining. “Fine” dining for the area.

There is phenomenal ATV and Polaris RZR side by side trails in Danbury, WI only one hour away. The trailhead is at the BP gas station across from the Casino. Rent from the RZR rental company there ahead of time and then just show up and ride.

The ATV trails in Barron County are great for cruising long distances fast. Old train track beds are converted into ATV trails. Also, there is a 20 acre ATV off-road park that is fun for all ages. Ride your ATV over hills, mud, trees, bumps and curves. Tons of fun! Inquire with me about side by side rental.

Each parcel of land is approximately 1/2 acre and large trees separate the views from the neighbors, lots of private space. However, you can see the neighbor's cabins and they will be able to see you.

I grew up swimming on Lake Loveless in the summer at my grandma’s cabin. We would drive from Farmington up Hwy 52 to 35E north to Forest Lake. The drive along Hwy 8 East through Lindstrom and Chisago was so memorable. When I had the opportunity to buy the Little Red Cabin three doors down from my grandma’s cabin I had to go for it. It has been a passion project and I love spending time at the Lake making improvements. Please give me lots of feedback on ways to make it a better experience!
