We are letting all current and potential AirBnb guests, booking from now till late fall 2017, that the owners have started a re-build on their house, which is next to the AirBnb. There are two separate driveways (see aerial photos) and the door to the AirBnb faces the opposite direction as the main house, which is hardly even visible, so we don't anticipate the construction will affect guests much at all. That being said, we are letting guests know, as there is a possibility of more noise, periods of time where electricity or water could be shut off, and less privacy at the pool or times when the pool will not be available due to construction. We are not able to tell guests far ahead of time if any of these inconveniences will arise during their stays, but we will be working our hardest to avoid them, and will work closely with guests to deal with issues as they arise.

This listing has its own private driveway and entrance, but guests should be aware that the owners’ home is also on the 3 acre lot. The owners' house is a totally different structure separated by several hundred feet. The owners working professionals so are not typically at home during the day from Monday to Thursday, but may be home Friday to Sunday. The owners to meet and speak to our guests and accommodate any requests or give guidance about the best places to eat, drink, and shop in the valley. However, they try to respect their guests’ privacy during their stay. The listed guest unit is on the second floor of our storage space/wine cellar, so they may use a separate entrance on the 1st floor (on the opposite side of the primary entrance) to access this space when needed, but will be careful to do so in a quiet, unobtrusive manner.
Some areas of the property have limited or no access. The owners are happy to share their backyard space with pool, jacuzzi, lawn/BBQ area, and volleyball court as long as guests arrange this beforehand, to respect their privacy and avoid conflicts with other entertaining plans.
The next door neighbors do have a chicken coup fairly close to the listing, so the animals can be heard at certain times of the day. It has so far not been a problem for guests and is said to add to the "rustic" feel :)
The owners do own a cat, so people with allergies should be aware. The cat does not usually come to this side of the property and has never been up in the guest house. She may sometimes be seen in the pool/jacuzzi area.
The location is what would be considered “out in the country.” This means that you do have are fair share of wild animals running about. Besides the normal quail, rabbits, and hawks that are quite commonplace, you may run into the occasional skunk, opossum, raccoon, and though rare, snakes. This is more likely if you are walking/biking through the vineyards. There has never been any poisonous snakes on the property, just the occasional garden variety. Be prepared to hear coyotes howling in the vineyards at night. They often come quite close to the property, but are very afraid of humans. You may also hear owls hooting in the trees on the neighbor’s property. Black widows have been spotted in the past, but have not been seen for a while and never up in the guest house area. Just be aware if you see any large black spiders. We don’t meant to alarm anyone, but we know that seeing any one of these creatures can come as a shock, so better to prepare you on the off chance it happens, especially if you are coming from a big city.
There is a very friendly gardener who helps maintain the property. His name is Elias. You may bump into him as he accesses a shed which is close to the listing, in order to get his tools. We will try to let him know when guests are there so he will not mow the lawn, etc., too early in the morning.

THIS LISTING HAS A 2 NIGHT MINIMUM AND A STRICT CANCELLATION POLICY. We may be able to accommodate an additional 2 people per night if previously arranged for an extra fee of $75 per person per night. We have a queen blow up roll-away bed available.
-Unless you have made different arrangements, check in time is 3pm and check out time is at 12pm (noon).
-Please leave the key in the lockbox upon final departure. If the key is not returned, a $50 may be taken out of the security deposit.
-We ask that you treat this space as if it was your own home. Though we charge a modest cleaning fee, we expect to find the house reasonably tidy upon your departure.
-When parking pull up into the parking spaces right in front of the garage doors. Please do not park on any part of the main driveway or on the neighbor’s property to the side of the house. (see map of house). The owners reserve the right to have you move your vehicle if needed to retrieve large items from the garage (should not happen very often).
-If using UBER, LYFT, or any other such taxi service, please call the driver directly and let them know to use the 2nd driveway marked 5045 BIG RANCH RD. Unfortunately, most times drivers end up next door at the neighbors’ or in the owner’s driveway if you simply use the GPS feature of these apps, and it is very bothersome for them.
-No smoking indoors or on the balconies. *We will provide an ash tray for smokers to be used in the parking/BBQ area.
-No pets in the rental (including owners/neighborhood kitties and puppies)
-No loud music, and no parties. There should never be more than 6 people gathered at the home, unless by previous arrangement.
-As the owners live on the property, please be respectful of them and the neighbors by keeping the noise to a minimum after 10pm and keeping to the areas of the property that have been previously designated. Sound caries very far over the vineyards so please be mindful of this.
-If you have previously arranged to use limited access areas such as the jacuzzi/pool area, keep in mind that they will be off limits after 10pm.
-No glass is allowed in the pool/jacuzzi area. Please use plastic glassed provided. No smoking, eating, or running in the pool/jacuzzi area Please rinse off before using the pool or jacuzzi if you have also been using the volleyball court. No unattended children are allowed in any part of the limited access areas (especially the jacuzzi/pool area).
-Please be careful to only flush toilet paper down the toilets. No moist towlettes, paper towels, or feminine hygiene products! We have low flow toilets and our septic system can be quite finicky!
