Bright, airy, private one bedroom apartment in our 1840's farmhouse. Surrounded by craft breweries, farm to table food, cross country & downhill skiing, lakes & mountains, miles of dirt roads, beautiful views -- and only 5 minutes from I-91 and a 5 minute walk to Parker Pie.
Relax into the comfort and convenience of your own private apartment. You'll have a large, airy, light-filled great room with living, dining, and kitchen areas, a cozy bedroom with a queen sized bed, and a spacious bathroom with tub and shower. The kitchen is well-equipped with a Keurig coffee maker (and a French press if you prefer to bring your own special grind), dishes, pots & pans, utensils, a microwave, and toaster. We supply a selection of K-cups, cream and sugar, and a few basic spices. The lodge is spacious for a couple, but will comfortably accommodate four people. In addition to the bedroom, there is a pull out sofa in the great room and an air bed if needed. Our house is a typical Vermont farm house (1840's) and has a stable attached to the house. We have 35 acres which includes horse pastures and lower woods and wetlands that are fun for aimless, meditative walks. We also have a dog and two cats.
Although the opportunities to explore the rich cultural and recreational offerings of our area are almost endless, many of our guest seem to enjoy simply being in the lodge. It is a very pleasant space, no matter the season or weather, to escape, relax, and rejuvenate.
Toegang voor gasten
In addition to the lodge, you are also welcome to use our front porch or enjoy the view over the riding arena.
Interactie met gasten
We are happy to share our knowledge of the area and we enjoy meeting new people, but also want you to enjoy all the privacy you need. You may run into us in the tack room or garage as we go about our daily chores -- chucking wood, cleaning stalls, plowing snow.
Andere dingen waar je op moet letten
Our horses are in the stable at night during the winter months. You might hear an occasional snort or thud as they go about their business of being horses!
Absolutely no smoking in or around the lodge, house, stable, or old barn across the road. We are also sorry that we cannot accommodate pets -- not because we don't like them, but because we have too many of our own, and behaviors can be unpredictable! We hope all guests will appreciate our space and treat it gently.
We moved to the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont from Virginia fifteen years ago and instantly fell in love with the stunning beauty of the natural landscape. We have come to deeply value the culture of community and commitment to preserving a way of life here that is fast disappearing in so many parts of the world. We love our old farm house and the land surrounding it, most of which we are allowing Nature to reclaim. We are still somewhat stunned that we can take a five minute walk down our dirt road and enjoy the best food, drink, music, and company that you could find anywhere. Hope you'll join us -- we really want to share.
