INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
Your hosts will be my recently-retired parents Antonia and Frank. Together with their dog, they live in the same house in their apartment on the first floor. They will be there to welcome you and be around for anything you would require. They speak Slovenian, German and Croatian/Serbian, however, they understand little English. If some English interpreting on-the-spot would be needed, they will get involved friends who live nearby.
I am their son, Daniel. I am currently living abroad in Belgium and I am also getting involved on distance. I am your main contact point over the mail or phone. I speak English, German, French, Spanish and Croatian/Serbian.
My parents have renovated this apartment with lots of love and with the idea of moving in when they get old and cannot take any more the stairs. So, they arranged it for themselves and they wish that also you would in the meantime feel well there.
My mother is an ex-florist (in a part of the house there was a flower shop which is now empty) and a great cook. She is able to teach you how to prepare some traditional Slovenian dishes.
My father did his career in telecommunications. He is a big hiking enthusiast and I would dare to say that there a very few who know very well the beautiful hiking trails of Lower Carniola (Dolenjska), White Carniola (Bela krajina) and the Sava River Valley (Posavje). He also climbed almost all peaks of the Slovenian Alps. He can help you well with planning and, if available, he may be even able to guide/accompany you on trails.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Right to one side of the house there is a small stable with a horse box and the neighbour's horse lives there. If you want and if you are nice, the horse may allow you to cuddle it. :)
For legal reasons you will be asked to sign a short-term contract for the duration of your stay. The contract is a one-pager (like a check-in form) clearly making reference to the conditions of Airbnb (with the signature you are not engaging to any additional conditions, legal or financial). It is purely a formality - we need this for the tax authorities.
As it is usual in the region, for stays shorter than 30 days a tourist tax needs to be paid to the local municipality. You have to count this in as an additional cost. At the time of this posting this amounts to 1.15 Euro per night for adults, while children between 7 and 18 have a discount of 50%. Younger children are exempted. Do not worry about the related paper work and paying it. We will arrange all that on your behalf.
For the convenience of guests coming after you, it is not permitted to smoke in the apartment.
Otherwise, only common sense. :-)
