Stay here. If you want to stay out of the crazy touristy locations you need to stay here. Everything in Capri is much busier and more expensive so staying in the more authentic Anacapri made much more sense. You can get to anywhere on the island easily between taxi, walking and bus. We loved everything about our stay with Sofia. She picked us up at the Marina Grande well before check-in and took us to her place. Her parents also drove us back to the Marina at the end of our stay. Such a nice touch! Every need was attended to and then some. Stocked fridge with fresh fruits- oranges and peaches, 3 types of juice, milk, butter, and 2 mini dessert wines. The freezer had ice ready to use. There were boxes of mini cereals, 2 loaves of bread, bags of mini crackers and cookies, many jellies and nutella. She even made us 4 capri cakes to enjoy. They were the best we had on the Island. The bathroom was fully stocked with all the toiletries you could want or need. Bath robes, fresh slippers, razor, shampoo, conditioner, floss, toothbrush, the list goes on. There are 2 air conditioning units to get the main living anf bedroom nice and cool. The bed was comfy and the area was quiet to sleep. We did hear a rooster in the am one morning, but we needed to get up to enjoy our day anyways. There is a laundry and nice patio to use. Shower was great with good pressure. There are about 30 steps from the road to get to her place, but they are spaced out enough to make it very manageable. The bus stop is literally right at the foot path down. Buy the tickets from the window and save 50 cents per ticket. Up the hill from Sophia's, about .25 miles, is a little area with a local bar and a few shops/restaurant. Get a drink from the local bar 2.50€ for a beer is a great deal and it's a nice people watching spot. The restaurant diagonally across the street has a large pizza menu and is quick with their take out. Pies run 4-5€ and are very tasty. I walked there and back to get dinner. If you want to walk to Piazza Vittorio it's about 15 minutes. The chair lift to summit Monte Solaro is there. Consider buying 1 way to enjoy the ride while allowing yourself to enjoy a nice walk back down. Sophia was very easy to communicate with even though she didnt speak much english. We never had an issue. Everything about our stay with her was great. Highly recommend.
